Chicken colibacillosis-the most common disease of poultry, is caused mainly by avian pathogenic (APEC). It has a major impact on the poultry industry worldwide. The present study was conducted to investigate the therapeutic effects of Xiaochaihu Decoction (XCHD) supplementation on clinical manifestation, organ index, bacterial load in organ and inflammatory mediators in a chicken model challenged with APEC. The results showed that all doses of XCHD significantly elevated the survival rate of infected chickens. XCHD improved the clinical signs of infected chickens, reduced the organ index, reduced the bacterial load of organs, and inhibited the secretion of serum and pulmonary inflammatory factors IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF- α. Taken together, this study demonstrates that XCHD had protective effects on APEC-infected chickens. Its mechanism includes anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects. These findings may contribute to the further study of the mechanism of the formula and the prevention or treatment of colibacillosis in poultry. The significance of this study is that it provides a certain theoretical basis for the replacement of antibiotics by XCHD.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: In accordance with the tenets of traditional Chinese medicine, sepsis is categorized into three distinct syndromes: heat syndrome, blood stasis syndrome, and deficiency syndrome. Xiaochaihu decoction (XCHD) has many functions, including the capacity to protect the liver, cholagogue, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-pathogenic microorganisms. XCHD exerts the effect of clearing heat and reconciling Shaoyang.

This paper introduces Professor 's experience in treating motor complications of Parkinson's disease (PD) with acupuncture combined with medication. Based on the characteristics of the alternation of "movement and stillness" in PD motor complications, Professor divides these complications into three distinct periods: "movement" stage, "stillness" stage and "alternation" stage, and proposes an integrated approach of acupuncture and medication, with staged treatment tailored to each period. The main acupoints include Jin's three needles to regulate spirit (four spirit needles, Shenting [GV 24], Yintang [GV 24], Shenmen [HT 7], Sanyinjiao [SP 6]), along with hand tremor three needles (Hegu [LI 4], Quchi [LI 11], Dingchan), foot tremor three needles (Yinlingquan [SP 9], Yanglingquan [GB 34], Taichong [LR 3]), and 's three needles (Dazhui [GV 14], Jinsuo [GV 8], Mingmen [GV 4]).

Background: Self-emulsifying nano-phase of traditional Chinese medicine are a research hotspot. Xiao-Chai-Hu decoction is a commonly used compound decoction in clinical practice, which is of great research significance. The aim of this study was to isolate and characterize the self-emulsifying nano-phase and other phases of Xiao-Chai-Hu decoction, and to study the effects of each phase on acute liver injury.

"Different prescriptions with the same name" is a common phenomenon clinically in traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions. Huanglong Decoction can be regarded as a representative example of this phenomenon with many changes to the contents of the decoction during its development. To clarify and identify the typology of Huanglong Decoction, this paper attempts to explore the origins and evolution of almost all types of Huanglong Decoction with an archival method examining data before 1911.
