The unique and open large frame structures of prussian blue analogues (PBA) enables it for accommodating a large number of cations (Na, K, Ca, etc.), thus, PBA are considered as promising electrode materials for the rechargeable battery. However, due to the chemical composition, there are still many alkaline metal ions in the gap within the framework, which puts multivalent metals in PBA in a low valence state and affects the sodium storage performance. To improve the valence of metal ions in PBA materials, precursors prepared by co-precipitation method and hydrothermal method are used to synthesis KCoFe(CN) through further chemical oxidation. Through the introducing of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) with excellent conductivity by a simple physical mixing method, the cycle stability and rate performance of the PBA material can be further improved. The KCoFe(CN)·2HO/rGO anode prepared with 2 h hydrothermal time and further chemical oxidation, named as KCoHCP-H2-EK/rGO, exhibits a super electrochemical performance, delivering initial charge/discharge capacities of 846.7/1445.0 mAh·g, and a capacity retention of 58.2% after 100 cycles at a current density of 100 mA·g. The KCoHCP-H2-EK/rGO outstanding electrochemical behaviors are attributed to the unique dual-active site structure properties and the improved surface conductance of materials by rGO components.

Erythritol is a beneficial sugar alcohol that can be used as a sugar substitute for diabetic patients. Erythritol is a bioproduct produced by microorganisms as a response to high osmotic pressure and stress in the growth medium. High concentrations of carbon source substrate can increase the osmotic pressure and provide more nutrient supply for yeast growth and metabolism.

With rising incidence, mortality and limited therapeutic options, heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) remains one of the most important topics in cardiovascular medicine today. Characterised by left ventricular diastolic dysfunction partially due to impaired Ca homeostasis, one ion channel in particular, SarcoEndoplasmic Reticulum Ca-ATPase (SERCA2a), may play a significant role in its pathophysiology. A better understanding of the complex mechanisms interplaying to contribute to SERCA2a dysfunction will help develop treatments targeting it and thus address the growing clinical challenge HFpEF poses.

The potential role of hydrogen sulfide (HS) in the modulation of neuropathic pain is increasingly recognized. This study investigated the therapeutic effect of intraperitoneal injection of the HS donor sodium hydrosulfide (NaHS) on neuropathic pain. Utilizing the spared nerve injury (SNI) model in mice, the research investigates the role of astrocytes and the excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate in chronic pain.

Alginate films were prepared from the brown seaweed Dictyota mertensii using glycerol as a plasticizer. The effects of extraction conditions-time, temperature, and NaCO concentration-on the optical, barrier, and mechanical properties of the films were investigated using a central composite design (CCD). ANOVA and F tests confirmed the models' statistical significance at p ≤ 0.

Cellulose has outstanding potential for application in energy storage batteries due to its high temperature resistance, high electrolyte affinity, renewability, and suppression of the shuttle effect, but single cellulose membranes still suffer from problems such as inhomogeneous pore distribution and unstable three-dimensional network structure. In this study, a green and sustainable regenerative cellulose (RC)/sodium alginate (SA) gel electrolyte membrane is developed by sol-gel process, the double crosslinked network scaffold centered on Zn was constructed by the synergistic hydrogen-bonding and metal ion- coordination network, the stable and uniform pore structure was also formed. The obtained RC-SA gel electrolyte membrane exhibits outstanding performance, featuring a dual crosslinked network with abundant pore structure and numerous polar groups that effectively enhance Zn transport, significantly improving battery cycling performance.
