  • A 78-year-old man exhibited severe neck and back pain, leading to an MRI that indicated infectious spondylitis at the C3-C4 level with abscess formation.
  • During surgery, pus samples revealed the presence of the bacteria, marking the first documented case of infective spondylitis caused by this organism.

Article Abstract

, a member of the genus , is a facultatively anaerobic, Gram-positive cocci. is a component of normal oral flora; however, it can become pathogenic and cause infections in patients with poor oral hygiene.
