The paper considers the current state of research and development of composite structured catalysts for the oxidative conversion of liquid hydrocarbons into synthesis gas for fuel cell feeding and gives more detailed information about recent advances in the Boreskov Institute of Catalysis. The main factors affecting the progress of the target reaction and side reactions leading to catalyst deactivation are discussed. The properties of the Rh/CeZrO/AlO/FeCrAl composite multifunctional catalyst for the conversion of diesel fuel into synthesis gas are described. The results of the catalyst testing and mathematical modeling of the process of diesel fuel steam-air conversion into synthesis gas are reported.

Plants with the C photosynthetic pathway can withstand water stress better than plants with C metabolism. However, it is unclear whether C photosynthesis can be preliminarily activated in droughted cotton leaves, and if this contributes to increase in water use efficiency (WUE). An upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.

Solid-phase microextraction (SPME) is a fast and simple sample preparation technique that enables the enrichment of analytes, and it is used in combination with other detection techniques to provide accurate and sensitive analytical methods. SPME is widely used in environmental monitoring, food safety, life analysis, biomedicine, and other applications. The extractive coating is the core of the SPME technique, and the properties of the extractive coating greatly influence extraction selectivity and efficiency, as well as the enrichment effect.

Trace contaminants are toxic and their widespread presence in the environment potentially threatens human health. The levels of these pollutants are often difficult to determine directly using instruments owing to the complexities of environment matrices. Hence, pretreatment steps, such as sample purification and concentration, are key along with various processes that enhance the accuracy and sensitivity of the detection method.

Mars, with its ancient history of long-lived habitable environments, continues to captivate researchers exploring the potential for extant life. This study investigates the biosignature potential of Martian methane by assessing the viability of hydrogenotrophic methanogenesis in Methanosarcina barkeri MS under simulated Martian surface conditions. We expose M.

Metal flux methods are excellent for synthesizing high-quality hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) crystals, but the atomic mechanisms of hBN nucleation and growth in these systems are poorly understood and difficult to probe experimentally. Here, we harness classical reactive molecular dynamics (ReaxFF) to unravel the mechanisms of hBN synthesis from liquid nickel solvent over time scales up to 30 ns. These simulations mimic experimental conditions by including relatively large liquid nickel slabs containing dissolved boron and a molecular nitrogen gas phase.
