Radon-222 diffusion length has been measured for 28 Danish soils and sediments. Samples were placed in a diffusion column connected to a 222Rn reservoir and the transport of 222Rn through the column was measured. The diffusion length was found by comparing the measured data to time-dependent diffusion theory. Dry silt, sand and gravel materials showed diffusion lengths from 160 cm to 190 cm. For wet clay materials, diffusion lengths of about 1 cm were found.

In this study, electrically conductive polymer composites based on repellent ,-diethyl-3-methylbenzamide with concentrations ranging from 6 to 30 wt% were developed. The electrical resistivity of repellent composites, as determined by electrochemical impedance spectra, ranges from 150 to 171 Ohm, which allows such materials to be used when a low voltage is applied. The study of the rheological properties of the obtained repellent composites and the analysis of the TGA curves demonstrated that the dynamic viscosity of the materials has a significant effect on the thermal diffusion of the repellent.

Metal halide perovskites have excellent optoelectronic properties. This study aims to determine how the optoelectronic properties of a model perovskite, cesium lead bromide (CsPbBr), change with length and thickness in one dimension (1D). By examining the photophysics of CsPbBr quantum dots (QDs), nanowires (NWs), and nanorods (NRs), we observe the influence of confinement, exciton diffusion, and trapping on their optical properties.

Background: Inferior Fronto-Occipital Fascicle (IFOF) is a multitasking connection bundle essential for communication and high level mentalization. The aim of the present study was to quantitatively assess its radiological-anatomical-morphometric modifications according to different brain tumor histotype.
Methods: A retrospective multicentric Italian study was conducted.

Overproduction of pathogenic cell-free DNA (cfDNA) and reactive oxygen species (ROS) plays crucial roles in the onset and perpetuation of ulcerative colitis (UC). Inspired by sweeping robots, a magnesium@polylactic acid-glycolic acid copolymer@polyethylenimine (Mg@PLGA@PEI) microswimmer capable of cleaning off deleterious disease triggers along its path of progress is designed. Mg@PLGA@PEI is successfully synthesized by adopting a core-shell structure with a small opening which allows for Mg-water reaction.

Biopolymers tend to form fibrils that self-assemble into open network structures. While permanently crosslinked flexible polymers are relatively well understood, structure-property relationships of open networks and pseudo-gels formed by bundles of biopolymers are still controversial. Here we employ a generic coarse-grained bead-spring chain model incorporating semiflexibility and cohesive nonbonded interactions, that forms physical instead of chemical crosslinks.
