Activation of the brainstem RF with small doses of aminasine increases the gastric secretory and excretory functions in dogs. Changes in these functions following bilateral vago-and splanchnicotomy suggest the gastric vagal nerves to be related both to the secretory and excretory functions. The vagal and celiac nerves are supposed to alter the permeability of the gastric glands as well.
