Thoracic point-of-care ultrasound (T-POCUS) has grown in popularity and usage in small animal emergencies and critical care settings due to its non-invasive nature, mobility, and ability to acquire images in real time. This review summarizes current understanding about T-POCUS in dogs and cats with respiratory illnesses, including normal thoracic ultrasonography appearance and numerous pathological situations. The basics of T-POCUS are covered, including equipment, scanning procedures, and picture settings.

With the growing global pet population and increased spending on veterinary care, compounded medications offer customized, often more suitable and affordable treatment options compared to the limited available veterinary medications. This research aims to understand pet owners' attitudes towards compounded medications, focusing on their challenges and needs. A total of 300 respondents from the territory of Novi Sad, province of Vojvodina, Republic of Serbia completed the questionnaire, through face-to-face interviews at veterinary clinics.

Hepatitis A virus (HAV), a major cause of acute liver infections, is transmitted through the fecal-oral route and close contact with infected individuals. Current HAV standardized methods rely on the detection of virus antigen or RNA, which do not differentiate between infectious and non-infectious HAV. The objective of this study was to develop a prototype cell-based electrochemical biosensor for detection of infectious HAV.

Adenovirus (AdV) infection has been rarely documented in cats and other felids. Partial sequences of the hexon and fiber genes of a Hungarian feline adenovirus isolate (FeAdV isolate) showed a close relationship to human AdV (HAdV) type C1.
