Background: Genome-wide association studies for various hemorheological characteristics have not been reported. We aimed to identify genetic loci associated with hemorheological indexes in a cohort of healthy Chinese Han individuals.
Methods: Genotyping was performed using Applied Biosystems Axiom™ Precision Medicine Diversity Array in 838 individuals, and 6,423,076 single nucleotide polymorphisms were available for genotyping. The relations were examined in an additive genetic model using mixed linear regression and combined with identical by descent matrix.
Results: We identified 38 genetic loci ( < 5 × 10) related to hemorheological traits. In which, rs28371438 was related to the levels of nd30 ( = 8.58 × 10), nd300 ( = 1.89 × 10), erythrocyte rigidity ( = 1.29 × 10), assigned viscosity ( = 6.20 × 10) and whole blood high cut relative ( = 7.30 × 10). The association of rs4689231 for nd30 ( = 3.85 × 10) and nd300 ( = 2.94 × 10) and -LINC01541 rs11661911 for erythrocyte rigidity ( = 9.93 × 10) and whole blood high cut relative ( = 2.09 × 10) was found. rs1297329 was associated with erythrocyte rigidity ( = 1.81 × 10) and erythrocyte deformation ( = 1.14 × 10). Moreover, the association of rs3985087 and rs9966987 for fibrinogen ( = 1.31 × 10 and = 4.29 × 10) and plasma viscosity ( = 1.01 × 10 and = 4.59 × 10) was found.
Conclusion: These findings may represent biological candidates for hemorheological indexes and contribute to hemorheological study.

Background: SARS-CoV-2 infection adversely affects rheological parameters, particularly red blood cell (RBC) aggregation and deformability, but whether these changes persist in patients suffering from Long-COVID (LC) and whether these changes are related to RBC morphology remain unknown.
Methods: Venous blood was collected from = 30 diagnosed LC patients and = 30 non-LC controls and RBC deformability, RBC aggregation, and hematological parameters were measured. In addition, RBCs were examined microscopically for morphological abnormalities.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Unhealthy dietary patterns and lifestyle changes have been linked to increased blood viscosity, which is recognized as an important pathogenic factor in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. The underlying mechanism may involve chronic inflammation resulting from intestinal barrier disruption induced by unhealthy diets. The rhizome of Atractylodes macrocephala Koidz.

Background: The aim of this study is to determine whether there are any changes in hemorheological parameters, including whole blood viscosity (WBV), plasma viscosity, erythrocyte aggregation, and erythrocyte deformability, in acute ischemic stroke patients, and to establish their relationship with stroke etiology. The study also aims to observe the changes in these parameters, if any, over time and after treatment, and to assess the correlation between risk factors for ischemic stroke and neuroimaging findings.
Methods: This was a prospective observational study including 70 patients diagnosed with acute ischemic stroke within the first 3 days of the onset of symptoms and 96 healthy controls.

Background And Objective: Stenosis or narrowing of arteries due to the buildup of plaque is a common occurrence in atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease (CAD), limiting blood flow to the heart and posing substantial cardiovascular risk. While the role of geometric irregularities in arterial stenosis is well-documented, the complex interplay between the abnormal hemorheology and asymmetric shape in flow characteristics remains unexplored.
Methods: This study investigates the influence of varying hematocrit (Hct) levels, often caused by conditions such as diabetes and anemia, on flow patterns in an idealized eccentric stenotic artery using computational fluid dynamics simulations.

Objective: This study aimed to analyze the therapeutic effect of Ginkgo biloba extract (EGb 761) on sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL) and its influence on hemorheology.
Methods: The clinical data of patients diagnosed with SSNHL and admitted to the Wendeng Hospital of Traditional Chinese Orthopedics and Traumatology of Shandong Province from May 2020 to May 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. Based on different clinical treatment protocols, patients were divided into a control group (treated with routine treatment) and an administration group (treated with routine treatment + EGb 761).
