In this work, electrocatalytic changes of Cu(II) triazole complexes (Cu(L)) resulting from inductive effects were evaluated to fabricate a sensor for hydrogen peroxide (HO) determination. Three copper(II) complexes with electronically differentiated ligands were synthesized by slow diffusion method and characterized by X-ray crystallography, Fourier transformed infrared (FTIR), UV-Vis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and voltammetry cyclic (CV). Cu(LOMe)2/GC, Cu(LBr)2/GC and Cu(LNO2)2/GC sensors were then prepared. Under optimal conditions (pH = 11), the optimal sensor presented a response at -0.5 V, good linear range of 1-32 μM, reproducibility (1.7%), repeatability (1.2%), LOD of 0.0246 μM (S/N = 5), LOQ of 0.0747 μM (S/N = 5) and selectivity. Additionally, Cu(LNO2)2/GC sensor has been successfully applied in commercial substances, such as mouthwash, milk and tea.

The title compound, bis-[μ-2,2'-(4-1,2,4-triazole-3,5-di-yl)di-acetato]-bis-[di-aqua-copper(II)] dihydrate, [Cu(CHNO)(HO)]·2HO, is a dinuclear octa-hedral Cu triazole-based complex. The central copper atoms are hexa-coordinated by two nitro-gen atoms in the equatorial positions, two equatorial oxygen atoms of two carboxyl-ate substituents in position 3 and 5 of the 1,2,4-triazole ring, and two axial oxygen atoms of two water mol-ecules. Two additional solvent water mol-ecules are linked to the title mol-ecule by O-H⋯N and O⋯H-O hydrogen bonds.

'Click' derived 1,2,3-triazole appended scaffolds are intriguing candidates for selective metal ion recognition because of their stereospecificity and efficiency. The presented report uses the 'click' approach to introduce a glyoxal bis-(2-hydroxyanil)-based chemosensor probe (GT) the CuAAC pathway, which can selectively detect Cu(II) and Pb(II) ions, both of which are among the most hazardous and perturbing environmental pollutants. NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry (LCMS) were used to successfully characterize the synthesized probe.

A 1,8-naphthalimide-based tripodal fluorescent ligand (L3) was synthesized through the copper (I) catalyzed Huisgen azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction of 2-(2-azidoethyl)-6-morpholino-1 H-benzo[de]isoquinoline-1,3(2 H)-dione with triproparagylamine. Naphthalimide acts as the fluorophore while the triazole and amine nitrogens chelate the metal ion. L3 showed a selective fluorescence turn-off for Cu(II) over other metal ions in aqueous acetonitrile solution.

Heteroleptic metal complexes containing Cu, Co, and Zn, incorporating curcumin and a Schiff base ligand (L), were synthesized and characterized, and their antifungal activity was evaluated. Their antifungal activities were investigated individually and in combination with fluconazole. Utilizing various analytical techniques such as UV-Vis, FT-IR, NMR, ESI-MS, TGA-DTG, elemental analyses, conductance, and magnetic susceptibility measurements, complex C1 ([Cu(Cur)LCl(HO)]) was assigned a distorted octahedral geometry, while complexes C2 ([Co(Cur)LCl(HO)]) and C3 ([Zn(Cur)LCl(HO)]) were assigned octahedral geometries.
