Two-dimensional (2D) BiOSe semiconductors with a narrow band gap and ultrahigh mobility have been regarded as an emerging candidate for optoelectronic devices, whereas the ambiguous phonon characteristics and optical properties still limit their future applications. Herein, high-quality centimeter-scale 2D BiOSe films are successfully synthesized to disclose the lattice dynamics and dielectric functions under the control of thickness and temperature. It has been demonstrated that the stronger electrostatic Bi-Se interactions result in a stiffened phonon vibration of thicker BiOSe layers. Three excitons (, , and ) exhibit significant red shifts with layer stacking. Interestingly, the dielectric properties in the visible-near infrared region ( and ) are dominated by the combined effect of the joint density of states and mass density, whereas the dielectric properties in the ultraviolet region () are dominated by the exciton effect. Furthermore, the temperature-sensitivity of the phonon frequency and exciton transition energies is revealed to be layer-dependent. In particular, the optical response of excitons exhibits a prominent dependence on temperature, which indicates a promising optical modulation by temperature in the visible spectrum. This study enriches the knowledge about phonon dynamics and dielectric properties for 2D BiOSe, which provides an essential reference for high-performance related optoelectronic devices.

Wireless energy-responsive systems provide a foundational platform for powering and operating intelligent devices. However, current electronic systems relying on complex components limit their effective deployment in ambient environment and seamless integration of energy harvesting, storage, sensing, and communication. Here, we disclose a coupling effect of electromagnetic wave absorption and moist-enabled generation on carrier transportation and energy interaction regulated by ionic diode effect.

The world of nanoscales in fluidics is the frontier where the continuum of fluid mechanics meets the atomic, and even quantum, nature of matter. While water dynamics remains largely classical under extreme confinement, several experiments have recently reported coupling between water transport and the electronic degrees of freedom of the confining materials. This avenue prompts us to reconsider nanoscale hydrodynamic flows under the perspective of interacting excitations, akin to condensed matter frameworks.

In recent years, research on chiral bound states in the continuum (BIC) has surged, leading to the development of various chiral metasurfaces with narrow bandwidths by breaking of in-plane and out-of-plane symmetries. However, the ability to dynamically tune the working band remains relatively unexplored, which is valuable for chiral sensing applications. Optical phase-change materials, with tunable dielectric constants and switchable properties during phase transition, offer the potential for dynamic control of optical metasurfaces.

Traditional surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrates seeking uniformity and reproducibility of the Raman signal often assume and require that hot spots remain consistently stable during Raman testing. Recently, the non-uniform accumulation in SERS sample pre-concentration strategies have inspired the direct use of self-healing noble metal aerogels (NMAs), as the sample pretreatment presented in this work, and uncovered more diverse Raman information of substances during the dynamic process of laser irradiation. Rare characteristic peaks such as 820 cm⁻ for R6G within a specific concentration range were observed, and potential processes including R6G dimerization and desorption were analyzed.
