Objectives: Mobile health apps may be an effective way to increase sleep management skills. Although little has been documented about the content and quality of available sleep management apps, providers often make app recommendations to help with sleep self-management. The objective of this study was to systematically evaluate the content and quality of commercially available sleep apps.
Methods: Following a systematic search of the Apple App and Google Play stores, 56 sleep management apps were evaluated. App content was evaluated using the taxonomy of behavior change techniques (BCTs), and app quality was assessed using the Mobile App Rating Scale.
Results: Sleep management apps included 0-15 BCTs ( = 6.89) and 0-9 sleep BCTs ( = 4.87). App quality ranged from 2.51 to 4.80 ( = 3.78) out of 5.00. Sleepiest Sleep Sounds Stories, ShutEye: Sleep Tracker, and Mintal Tracker: Sleep Recorder included the highest number of sleep BCTs and highest quality scores.
Conclusions: While the content and quality of sleep management apps is variable, the findings are promising as many apps included a high number of BCTs and high quality. Although evidence of efficacy through randomized controlled trials is necessary to establish efficacy, this review can aid in app selection in the interim.

Background: Although the survival rate for thyroid cancer is high, a nursing intervention that enhances autonomous motivation is needed for patients with jobs to improve their long-term self-management abilities in the early postoperative period.
Objectives: This study aims to develop a mobile application (app) based on the Self-Determination Theory for patients returning to work after thyroid cancer surgery and to verify its effectiveness.
Methods: We developed an app to promote self-management and verify its effectiveness after 12 weeks in early outpatients who underwent thyroid cancer surgery through a randomized controlled trial design.

Purpose: This study examines the link between high occupational noise exposure and atrial fibrillation (AF), given the limited existing evidence.
Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study among participants from a large heavy industry enterprise in China. High noise exposure was defined as an equivalent A-weighted sound level (LAeq, 8 h) of ≥ 80 dB(A) during an 8 h workday.

Introduction: In response to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in March 2020 and required adherence to infection control measures and patient and staff safety, an integrated respiratory team (IRT) developed guideline-based templates to support the team in teleconsultation reviews of their patients. Patients had been diagnosed with sleep disordered breathing, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, interstitial lung disease or had oxygen assessment needs.
Methods: Nine IRT members collaboratively developed content for the templates to assist in clinical reviews.

Behavioral economics offers a framework for understanding choice making around public health concerns such as drug use and distracted driving. Such a framework could be beneficial to understanding caregiver choices related to arranging an infant sleep environment. Nonadherence to infant sleep safety guidelines provided by the American Academy of Pediatrics increases the risk of sleep-related infant deaths.
