Reports of malignant lymphoma accompanied by silicosis are limited. A 93-year-old man with silicosis presented with right massive pleural effusions and was diagnosed with primary pleural lymphoma. Since there was no evidence of chronic pyothorax or Epstein-Barr virus infection, it may be due to silicosis-associated chronic inflammation.

Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpes virus (KSHV), also known as human herpes virus 8 (HHV-8), is the primary etiologic cause of Kaposi sarcoma (KS) and KSHV Inflammatory Cytokine Syndrome (KICS). Patients with KICS demonstrate symptoms of systemic inflammation, high KSHV viral load, elevation of inflammatory markers, and increased mortality. Management requires rapid diagnosis, treatment of underlying HIV, direct treatment of KS, and addressing the hyperimmune response.

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is a major subtype of lung cancer and poses a serious threat to human health. Due to the advances in lung cancer screening, more and more clinical T1 NSCLC defined as a tumor with a maximum diameter of 3cm surrounded by lung tissue or visceral pleura have been detected and have achieved favorable treatment outcomes, greatly improving the prognosis of NSCLC patients. However, the preoperative lymph node staging and intraoperative lymph node dissection patterns of operable clinical T1 NSCLC are still subject to much disagreement, as well as the heterogeneity between primary tumors and metastatic lymph nodes poses a challenge in designing effective treatment strategies.
