Background: Different types of recurrent atrial tachycardia (AT) after Cox-maze procedures have been reported, whereas biatrial tachycardia (BiAT) has not been systematically analyzed.
Objective: In this study, we retrospectively investigated the electrophysiologic characteristics of BiAT after Cox-maze procedures by use of an ultrahigh-density mapping system.
Methods: Of a consecutive 76 patients who underwent catheter ablation of AT after Cox-maze procedures, 12 BiATs were identified.

Current guidelines recommend concomitant surgical ablation (SA) of atrial fibrillation (AF) in the context of mitral valve disease. A variety of energy sources have been tested for SA to perform effective transmural lesions reliably. To date, only radiofrequency and cryothermy energies are considered viable options.

Introduction: Electrophysiological characteristics of epicardial connections (ECs) in atria and pulmonary veins (PVs) are unclear despite their important contributions to atrial fibrillation (AF). Unidirectional conduction associated with source-sink mismatch can occur in ECs due to their fine fibers with abrupt changes in orientation. We detailed the prevalence and electrophysiological characteristics of unidirectional conduction in the atria and investigated its association with the clinical manifestation of AF.

Introduction: Recent reports highlighted the role of epicardial connections in the development of biatrial tachycardia circuits.
Methods: We reported a case of 60-year-old female patient who was admitted with recurrent atrial tachycardia (AT) after endocardial pulmonary vein isolation and anterior mitral line formation.
Results: Epicardial activation map demonstrated fragmented continuous potentials at the Bachmann's bundle region with good entrainment response.
