Background: Pathologic complete response (pCR) following neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) for early-stage breast cancer is prognostic, but not the sole surrogate marker for long-term outcome at a trial level, given that recurrence risk persists in patients who achieve pCR. This study aimed to investigate factors affecting the outcome of patients who achieve pCR.
Methods: This population-based cohort study prospectively enrolled patients who received NACT for nonmetastatic breast cancer between 2007 and 2020 in the Stockholm-Gotland region, which comprises 25% of the entire Swedish population.

To describe the clinical and therapeutic features of fungal necrotizing otitis externa (NOE) as well as to identify the predictive factors of complications. This retrospective and monocentric study included 15 cases of fungal NOE treated in our ENT department between 2006 and 2024. Clinical, biological, microbiological, and imaging data were collected and evaluated.

Aim: The incidence of intrahepatic distant recurrence (IDR) of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) still remains high after radiofrequency ablation (RFA). However, serum alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) has insufficient screening power. This study aimed to identify risk factors for IDR in patients with post-RFA HCC.

Purpose: Despite the growing adoption of HIFU treatment for localized prostate cancer (PC), standardized criteria for evaluating success and predicting recurrence remain undefined. Herein, we analyze the predictive value of noninvasive tools such as PSA dynamics and MRI to determine recurrence.
Methods: We identified from our HIFU therapy prospective registry patients who developed biopsy-proven recurrence, between 2016 and 2023.

Objective: To determine whether interictal epileptiform discharges (IEDs) on routine electroencephalography (EEG) predict seizure recurrence in adults with established epilepsy.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective survival analysis of consecutive adults with epilepsy undergoing routine EEG at a tertiary center between 2018 and 2019. Using multivariate Cox proportional hazards models guided by a directed acyclic graph and adjusted for confounders including past seizure frequency and duration of epilepsy, we estimated the association between the presence of IEDs and time to next seizure, stratified by epilepsy type.
