A chemical investigation of 95% ethanol extract from the stem and branch of has resulted in the isolation and characterization of two new compounds, one neolignan () and one phenylalanine derivative (), as well as four known compounds (). The structures of the new compounds were determined based on extensive spectroscopic analyses. The absolute configuration of compound was defined by X-ray crystallographic analyses and electronic circular dichroism calculation. In addition, compounds and exhibited inhibitory effects against NO production in LPS-induced RAW 264.7 macrophages with the IC value ranging from 3.51 μM to 30.40 μM.

Cancer is one of the leading causes of mortality around the world and most of our conventional treatments are not efficient enough to combat this deadly disease. Harnessing the power of the immune system to target cancer cells is one of the most appealing methods for cancer therapy. Nucleotide-based cancer vaccines, especially deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) cancer vaccines are viable novel cancer treatments that have recently garnered significant attention.

Deciphering the dynamic single-cell transcriptional landscape in the ocular surface ectoderm differentiation system.

Life Med

The ocular surface ectoderm (OSE) is essential for the development of the ocular surface, yet the molecular mechanisms driving its differentiation are not fully understood. In this study, we used single-cell transcriptomic analysis to explore the dynamic cellular trajectories and regulatory networks during the differentiation of embryonic stem cells (ESCs) into the OSE lineage. We identified nine distinct cell subpopulations undergoing differentiation along three main developmental branches: neural crest, neuroectodermal, and surface ectodermal lineages.

Allometric equations for estimating above and belowground biomass of Colophospermum mopane in Mozambique.

Sci Rep

Department of Forest Engineering, Faculty of Agronomy and Forest Engineering, Eduardo Mondlane University, P.O. Box 257, Maputo, Mozambique.

Seasonally dry tropical woodlands are vital for climate change mitigation, yet their full potential in carbon storage remains poorly understood. This is largely due to the lack of species-specific allometric models tailored to these ecosystems. To address this knowledge gap, this study aimed to develop species-specific biomass allometric equations (BAEs) for accurately estimating both above- and below-ground biomass of Colophospermum mopane (J.

The main objective of this work is to study the mathematical model that combines stem cell therapy and chemotherapy for cancer cells. We study the model using the fractal fractional derivative with the Mittag-Leffler kernel. In the analytical part, we study the existence of the solution and its uniqueness, which was studied based on the fixed point theory.

Aims: Alexander disease (AxD) is a leukodystrophy caused by mutations in the astrocytic filament gene GFAP. There are currently no effective treatments for AxD. Previous studies have rarely established AxD models with the patient's original GFAP mutations.
