The concepts of social learning and exploration have been central to debates in comparative cognition research. While their roles in the origins of human cumulative culture on the one hand and creativity on the other have been highlighted, the two concepts have mostly been studied separately. In this article, we examine the relationship between adopting similar or different behaviours within a group, focusing on how exploration and exploitation shape primate communication systems.

Problem: A high-fat diet (HFD) predisposes animals to glucose intolerance, dyslipidemia and testicular oxidative stress, and impairs sperm production in rats. Quercetin is a flavonoid with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and lipolytic actions and is a potential supplement to combat the oxidative stress caused by HFD and its harmful effects on reproduction. This study evaluated the effects of quercetin supplementation at doses of 10 and 20 mg/day on reproductive parameters and testicular oxidative stress in Wistar rats fed a diet rich in pork fat and fructose.

Viral hepatitis B is infamous for being contracted in young adulthood and adolescence, as high-risk behaviors like unprotected sexual intercourse and intravenous drug abuse are common. Most infections caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV) are cleared without any long-term sequelae, but some may persist and cause chronic hepatitis B (CHB). This chronicity may produce a state of prolonged inflammation and significantly increase the risk of developing colorectal adenomas (CRA) and colorectal carcinomas (CRC).

Background: Human T-cell lymphotropic virus type 1 (HTLV-1) is a retrovirus that leads to lifelong infection and multiple diseases, including HAM/TSP and ATLL. Despite extensive research, the exact pathophysiology of HTLV infection and its related diseases is enigmatic. In this study, we aimed to review and analyze the effect of different HLA alleles as protective or predisposing factors in HTLV-1 infection and its progression to related diseases.
