AI Article Synopsis

  • The COVID-19 pandemic significantly affected surgical training globally, particularly in reconstructive urology, as resources were shifted to prioritize urgent medical needs.
  • The lack of practical training during this period has resulted in gaps in the skills needed for future urologists.
  • To overcome these challenges, the integration of virtual reality technologies is proposed as an essential tool for enhancing education and training in reconstructive urology surgery.

Article Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted surgical training worldwide, and reconstructive urology training has been neglected at the expense of more urgent life-saving procedures. To help address this problem, virtual reality must become a fundamental training aid in modern reconstructive urology surgery education.
