In this issue, Chen et al. show that genetic knockout of Piezo2 in SOX2 medulloblastoma cells decreased local tissue stiffness, increased drug delivery across the blood-tumor barrier, and improved survival, uncovering a mechanosensitivity-dependent mechanism of action in a mouse model of pediatric brain tumors.

This study presents the design, modeling, and validation of a mixing screw for energy-efficient single-screw extrusion. The screw features a short length-to-diameter (L/D) ratio of 8:1 and incorporates double flights with variable pitch and counter-rotating mixing slots. These features promote enhanced plastication by breaking up the solid bed and improving thermal homogeneity through backflow mechanisms relieving a 3.

In order to establish the differences in packaging containing various essential oils, polylactide (PLA)-based polymeric films incorporating poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG), clove (C), grapefruit (G), rosemary (R), and tea tree (T) essential oils were obtained and subsequently analyzed. In addition to examining structure and morphology, the polymer films underwent analyses that are particularly important with regard to contact with food. Mechanical and antioxidant properties, water vapor transmission rate (WVTR), and analysis of barrier properties against ultraviolet (UV) radiation, as well as the migration of ingredients into food simulants such as 10% / solutions of ethanol, 3% / acetic acid solution, and isooctane, were among the critical studies conducted.

The objective was to describe the experiences of people living with neuropsychological symptomatology associated with long-covid, as well as identifying the barriers they encounter in their daily lives and the strategies they develop to deal with them. This is a descriptive qualitative study following an interpretative phenomenological perspective wich was held in Primary Care cin the Northern Metropolitan Area of Barcelona and the Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital (Badalona, Spain). A total of 34 adults with any persistent neuropsychological symptoms of covid-19 (>12 weeks since disease onset) participated.

The broad application of starch films has been significantly limited by their insufficient hydrophobicity and antibacterial activity. To overcome these challenges, this study developed a new starch film by incorporating polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and chlorogenic acid. The study explored the impact of PVA polymerization on the physical and functional characteristics of the resulting films, with particular emphasis on enhancing antimicrobial functionality by incorporating chlorogenic acid.
