Malignant proliferating trichilemmal tumors (MPTTs), arising from the external root sheath of hair follicles, are exceptionally rare, with limited documentation of their genetic alterations. We present a case of a 64-year-old African American woman who initially presented with a gradually enlarging nodule on her posterior scalp. An initial biopsy at an outside hospital suggested metastatic adenocarcinoma or squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of an uncertain origin.

Background: Large-for-size syndrome (LFSS) is an uncommon but potentially lethal complication following adult liver transplantation (LT). Reduced-size liver transplantation (RSLT) is considered a valuable alternative to delayed fascial closure or mesh closure for preventing LFSS. In this article, we report a successful adult-to-adult RSLT case with right posterior graft sectionectomy using three-dimensional (3D) computer-assisted planning.

Autoimmune uveitis is a relapsing blind-causing ocular condition with complex pathogenesis that is not completely understood. There is a high demand for accurate animal models of experimental autoimmune uveitis (EAU) suitable for elucidating the molecular mechanisms of the disease and testing new therapeutic approaches. Here, we demonstrated that photoreceptor Ca/Zn-sensor protein recoverin is a uveoretinal antigen in albino rabbits provoking typical autoimmune chorioretinitis 2-4 weeks after immunization.

Epidermal inclusion cysts (EICs) in the breast, particularly in the nipple and subareolar regions, are rare entities that pose significant diagnostic challenges and management dilemmas in clinical practice. This study retrospectively analyzes two case reports of women presenting with EICs located in these unusual breast areas. The subjects included a 35-year-old female with congested nipple symptoms and bilateral mastodynia, and a 58-year-old female with a palpable right breast nodule.

Traditional approaches such as curettage with bone grafting and internal fixation are preferred for severe cases involving mechanical instability, neurological deficits, or deformity. This study aimed to explore the efficacy of a customized approach involving simple posterior instrumentation without curettage or bone grafting in treating adult spinal LCH.
