Background: HIV continues to be a significant global health issue, particularly affecting sub-Saharan Africa, including Tanzania. Knowing one's HIV status is a crucial first step in combating HIV/AIDS and achieving the targets set for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. However, despite ongoing efforts, HIV testing coverage remains low in developing countries, including Tanzania, where testing among young people poses particular challenges.

Metacognition, the ability to monitor and regulate one's own cognitive processes, is subject to varying degrees of modification in patients suffering from neurodegenerative diseases. The literature suggests the existence of dissociations within metacognitive abilities, with some patients exhibiting, for example, specific impairments in self-assessing their memory (and not other cognitive domains). The specific assessment of metacognition in patients' social-cognitive abilities is underdeveloped, although it has significant implications for both clinical and theoretical purposes.

Until relatively recently, the concepts of professionalism and professional behavior were rooted in timeless ideals that individual physicians were expected to achieve in training and practice. As an ideal type, professionalism was seen as a quality or characteristic residing in the individual physician.
