To screen candidate fungal genes that may relate to avirulence genes corresponding to the host resistance genes, we characterized two field isolates of that cause rice blast disease, especially in northeast China, and performed whole-genome resequencing of these two isolates. The genome assembly and annotation data was submitted to the National Center for Biotechnology Information database. Our study unveils the predicted fungal effectors of two dominant isolates in northeast China, providing a resource for genes to clone. [Formula: see text] Copyright © 2023 The Author(s). In this systematic review, advancements in plastic recycling technologies, including mechanical, thermolysis, chemical and biological methods, are examined. Comparisons among recycling technologies have identified current research trends, including a focus on pretreatment technologies for waste materials and the development of new organic chemistry or biological techniques that enable recycling with minimal energy consumption. Existing environmental and economic studies are also compared.

High capacity, selective recovery and separation of precious metals from complex aqueous solutions is essential but remains a challenge in practical applications. Here, we prepared a thiophene-modified aromatic porous organic cage (T-PAC) with high stability for precise recognition and recovery of gold. T-PAC exhibits an outstanding gold uptake capacity of up to 2260 mg/g with fast adsorption kinetics and high adsorption selectivity.

Solar-driven interfacial evaporation technology is regarded as a promising strategy for global freshwater shortage owing to its green and sustainable desalination process. Graphene aerogel (GA) is widely utilized in the design of solar-driven steam generation systems due to its excellent photothermal conversion efficiency and broad spectral absorption. Given the significant impact of hydrophilicity and thermal insulation on the performance of evaporators, nitrogen doping in the graphene structure not only effectively enhances its wettability but also allows for moderate tuning of its thermal conductivity, thereby optimizing the overall performance of the evaporator.

Quantifying how co-acting global change factors (GCFs) influence plant invasion is crucial for predicting future invasion dynamics. We did a meta-analysis to assess pairwise effects of five GCFs (elevated CO, drought, eutrophication, increased rainfall and warming) on native and alien plants. We found that alien plants, compared to native plants, suffered less or benefited more for four of the eight pairwise GCF combinations, and that all GCFs acted additively.
