Background: The pylorus plays a key role in the control of gastric content outflow. Impairment of pyloric physiology has been observed in gastroparesis, particularly when associated with diabetes mellitus or opioid intake or after antireflux surgery. New tools have been developed to identify pyloric dysfunction in routine care, including functional luminal impedance planimetry (FLIP). As such, a new therapeutic strategy targeting the pylorus, namely endoscopic pyloromyotomy (G-POEM), has received increasing attention and emerged as a promising treatment for gastroparesis.
Purpose: The present review details the involvement of the pyloric pathophysiology in gastroparesis, as well as clinical results of G-POEM according to the current literature.

Background And Aims: Gastric per-oral endoscopic myotomy (G-POEM) is a new therapeutic option for the treatment of refractory gastroparesis. However, the outcome of G-POEM after the failure of gastric electrical stimulation (GES) or other pylorus-targeting therapies has been poorly reported.
Methods: Data were collected from patients referred for G-POEM for refractory gastroparesis.

Gastroparesis (GP) can be a severe and debilitating disease. Its pathophysiology is complex and not completely understood. Two principal mechanisms are responsible for the development of symptoms - gastric hypomotility and pylorospasm.

Ionic current levels of identified neurons vary substantially across individual animals. Yet, under similar conditions, neural circuit output can be remarkably similar, as evidenced in many motor systems. All neural circuits are influenced by multiple neuromodulators, which provide flexibility to their output.

Background And Objective: The demonstration of HER2 in gastric adenocarcinoma (GA) tissues by immunohistochemistry assists in deciding whether targeted therapy would optimise the treatment of GA patients who are HER2 positive. However, this has not been extensively studied in our patients hence the need for this study.
Methods: Recipient tissue microarray blocks were constructed from donor archival formalin fixed paraffin embedded gastric tumour tissue from 80 patients seen over a period of 17 years in a retrospective descriptive study.
