Advanced gene and cellular therapies risk a second "valley of death" due to their high costs and low patient population. As these are life-saving therapies, measures are urgently needed to prevent their withdrawal from the market.

Seizure prediction based on electroencephalogram (EEG) for people with epilepsy, a common brain disorder worldwide, has great potential for life quality improvement. To alleviate the high degree of heterogeneity among patients, several works have attempted to learn common seizure feature distributions based on the idea of domain adaptation to enhance the generalization ability of the model. However, existing methods ignore the inherent inter-patient discrepancy within the source patients, resulting in disjointed distributions that impede effective domain alignment.

Background: Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is a prevalent global renal illness and one of the main causes of end-stage renal disease (ESRD). FGF21 has been shown to ameliorate diabetic nephropathy, and in addition FGF-21-treated mice impeded mitogenicity, whereas it is unclear whether FGF21 can influence DN progression by regulating the cell cycle in diabetic nephropathy.
Methods: In order to create a diabetic model, STZ injections were given to C57BL/6J mice for this investigation.

Managing acute coronary syndrome (ACS) in patients with a recent history of gastrointestinal bleeding presents a unique and challenging clinical dilemma, necessitating a careful balance between minimizing ischemic risk and avoiding potentially life-threatening rebleeding. Standard treatment for ACS typically involves dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) to prevent recurrent thrombotic events. However, in patients with recent gastrointestinal hemorrhage or significant anemia, these therapies may substantially increase the risk of life-threatening bleeding, complicating the decision-making process and often leading to conservative management strategies.

Background: The incidence of invasive infection of (Kp) in the community is increasing every year, and the high disability and mortality rates associated with them pose great challenges in clinical practice. This study aimed to explore the clinical and microbiological characteristics of Kp invasive infection in the community.
Method: This study investigated the data of 291 patients with Kp infection in the community in three hospitals (Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province) from January 2020 to August 2023.
