Restrictive practices are often used harmfully with children in institutional settings. Interventions to reduce their use do not appear to have been mapped systematically. Using environmental scanning, we conducted a broad-scope mapping review of English language academic databases, websites and social media, using systematic methods. Included records ( = 121) were mostly from the United States and contained details of 82 different interventions. Children's participation was limited. Reporting quality was inconsistent, which undermined claims of effectiveness. Overall, despite a multitude of interventions, evidence is limited. Leaders should consider the evidence, including children's perspectives, before introducing poorly understood interventions into children's settings.

Introduction: Fear of recurrence is a transdiagnostic problem experienced by people with psychosis, which is associated with anxiety, depression and risk of future relapse events. Despite this, there is a lack of available psychological interventions for fear of recurrence, and psychological therapies for schizophrenia are often poorly implemented in general. However, low-intensity psychological therapy is available for people who experience fear of recurrence in the context of cancer, which means there is an opportunity to learn what has worked in a well-implemented psychological therapy to see if any learning can be adapted for schizophrenia care.

Background: Cryoballoon ablation has been widely performed in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF). In some challenging pulmonary veins (PVs), the procedure requires additional touch-up applications against the residual conduction gaps. It implies that there could exist difficult sites to cover with standard cryoballoon applications (CBAs), resulting in resistant conduction gaps (RCGs).

N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification: Emerging regulators in plant-virus interactions.

Virology

December 2024

State Key Laboratory for Managing Biotic and Chemical Threats to the Quality and Safety of Agro-products, Key Laboratory of Biotechnology in Plant Protection of MARA, Key Laboratory of Green Plant Protection of Zhejiang Province, Institute of Plant Virology, Ningbo University, Ningbo, 315211, China. Electronic address:

N6-methyladenosine (m6A), a reversible epigenetic modification, is widely present on both cellular and viral RNAs. This modification undergoes catalysis by methyltransferases (writers), removal by demethylases (erasers), and recognition by m6A-binding proteins (readers), ultimately influencing the fate and function of modified RNA molecules. With recent advances in sequencing technologies, the genome-wide mapping of m6A has become possible, enabling a deeper exploration of its roles during viral infections.

A Bibliometric Study on the Evolution of Women's Football and Determinants Behind Its Growth over the Last 30 Years.

Sports (Basel)

December 2024

Department of Physical Education and Sports, Faculty of Education and Sport Sciences, University of Granada, Melilla Campus, ES-52071 Melilla, Spain.

Background: The evolution of women's football over the past three decades has been remarkable in terms of development, visibility, and acceptance, transforming into a discipline with growing popularity and professionalization. Significant advancements in gender equality and global visibility have occurred, and the combination of emerging talent, increasing commercial interest, and institutional support will continue to drive the growth and consolidation of women's football worldwide.

Methods: The purpose of this study was to present a bibliometric analysis of articles on the evolution of women's football in terms of scientific production as well as its causes and motivations over the past 30 years (1992-2024).

This review explores a method of visualizing a demagnetization field () within a thin-foiled NdFeB specimen using electron holography observation. Mapping the is critical in electron holography as it provides the only information on magnetic flux density. The map within a NdFeB thin foil, derived from this method, showed good agreement with the micromagnetic simulation result, providing valuable insights related to coercivity.
