A new chlorobenzoate derivative, solieriate (), together with six known compounds (), were isolated from the red alga sp. The structures of were determined by comprehensive spectroscopic methods and X-ray diffraction analysis. Compound is the first example of halogenated derivative isolated from this genus. In addition, exhibited moderate antibacterial activity on with MIC value of 64 μg/ml.
