A kinetic framework for the ultrafast photophysics of tris(2,2-bipyridine)ruthenium(II) phosphonated and methyl-phosphonated derivatives is used as a basis for modeling charge injection by ruthenium dyes into a semiconductor substrate. By including the effects of light scattering, dye diffusion, and adsorption kinetics during sample preparation and the optical response of oxidized dyes, quantitative agreement with multiple transient absorption datasets is achieved on timescales spanning femtoseconds to nanoseconds. In particular, quantitative agreement with important spectroscopic handles-the decay of an excited state absorption signal component associated with charge injection in the UV region of the spectrum and the dynamical redshift of a ∼500 nm isosbestic point-validates our kinetic model. Pseudo-first-order rate coefficients for charge injection are estimated in this work, with an order of magnitude ranging from 10 to 10 s. The model makes the minimalist assumption that all excited states of a particular dye have the same charge injection coefficient, an assumption that would benefit from additional theoretical and experimental exploration. We have adapted this kinetic model to predict charge injection under continuous solar irradiation and find that as many as 68 electron transfer events per dye per second take place, significantly more than prior estimates in the literature.

Previously, it was reported that mRNA/cationic liposome complexes (mRNA lipoplexes) composed of the cationic triacyl lipid, 11-((1,3-bis(dodecanoyloxy)-2-((dodecanoyloxy)methyl)propan-2-yl)amino)-,,- trimethyl-11-oxoundecan-1-aminium bromide (TC-1-12), with 1,2-dioleoyl-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine and poly(ethylene glycol) cholesteryl ether, induce high protein expression in human cervical carcinoma HeLa cells. In the present study, the authors aimed to optimize mRNA transfection using TC-1-12-based mRNA lipoplexes. mRNA lipoplexes were prepared at various charge ratios (+:-) using modified ethanol injection (MEI) and thin-film hydration (TFH) methods and compared the protein expression efficiency after transfection of HeLa cells with the developed mRNA lipoplexes.

Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) film, with high energy density and excellent mechanical properties, has drawn attention as an energy storage device. However, conduction loss in PVDF under high electric fields hinders improvement in efficiency due to electrode-limited and bulk-limited conduction. Well-aligned multilayer interfaces of two-dimensional (2D) nanocoatings can block charge injection, reducing electrode-limited conduction loss in dielectric polymers.

Domain walls are quasi-one-dimensional topological defects in ferroic materials, which can harbor emergent functionalities. In the case of ferroelectric domain wall (FEDW) devices, an exciting frontier has emerged: memristor-based information storage and processing approaches. Memristor solid-state FEDW devices presented thus far, however predominantly utilize a complex network of domain walls to achieve the desired regulation of density and charge state.

The orbital Hall effect originating from light materials with weak spin-orbit coupling, has attracted considerable interest in spintronic applications. Recent studies demonstrate that orbital currents can be generated from charge currents through the orbital Hall effect in ferromagnetic materials. However, the generation of orbital currents in antiferromagnets has so far been elusive.

Neuron as a charged body, it is easily disturbed by the external electromagnetic field, which changes the electrical activities of the neurons. In fact, the interference of external electric or magnetic field is the process of energy injection of neurons, the injection of energy will redistribute the field energy inside the neurons, and the redistribution of energy will change the electrical activities of the neurons. Therefore, we design a neuron model with double memristors to explore the external electromagnetic field on the regulation of neural electrical activity.
