Chronic eosinophilic pneumonia (CEP) is an idiopathic disorder characterized by an abnormal accumulation of eosinophils in the pulmonary interstitial and alveolar spaces. Although many patients respond very well to treatment by steroids, some suffer from disease relapse. There aren't many treatment alternatives for steroid dependent patients or patients who are steroid intolerant because of their side effects. In the following article, we report the case of a 68 years old lady suffering from a relapsing CEP and severe osteoporosis successfully treated with Omalizumab.

Epidemiological studies indicate that the involvement of the immune system in the pathogenesis of infections associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and interstitial lung disease (ILD) remains unclear. This study aims to assess the potential causal link between infections associated with COPD, asthma, or ILD and immune system function. We conducted a two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis using publicly available genome-wide association study (GWAS) datasets.

Eosinophilic esophagitis is a chronic, antigen-driven, immune-mediated disease characterized by esophageal dysfunction and significant eosinophilic infiltration. Its rising incidence and prevalence over recent decades reflect both increased clinical awareness and the influence of environmental factors such as dietary patterns and allergen exposure. Among food allergens, cow's milk proteins are the most commonly implicated triggers, contributing to esophageal inflammation through complex immunological pathways involving both IgE-mediated and non-IgE-mediated mechanisms.

Exacerbations of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) have a substantial effect on overall disease management, health system costs, and patient outcomes. However, exacerbations are often underdiagnosed or recognized with great delay due to several factors such as patients' inability to differentiate between acute episodes and symptom fluctuations, delays in seeking medical assistance, and disparities in dyspnea perception. Self-management intervention plans, telehealth and smartphone-based programs provide educational material, counseling, virtual hospitals and telerehabilitation, and help COPD patients to identify exacerbations early.

Tick-bite hypersensitivity encompasses a range of clinical manifestations, from localized allergic reactions to systemic conditions like alpha-gal syndrome (AGS), an IgE-mediated allergy to galactose-α-1,3-galactose (α-Gal). This study investigated the clinical, molecular, immunological, and genetic features of two hypersensitivity cases. Two cases were analyzed: a 30-year-old woman with fixed drug reaction (FDR)-like hypersensitivity and a 10-year-old girl with AGS exhibiting borderline α-Gal-specific IgE.

Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is a chronic inflammatory esophageal disorder. The lack of non-invasive biomarkers currently results in dependency on endoscopy with biopsies for its diagnosis and monitoring. We aimed to identify potential non-invasive biomarkers using microRNAs (miRNAs) in plasma-derived extracellular vesicles (pEVs).
