Uncontrolled bleeding and infection following trauma continue to pose significant clinical challenges. This study employs hemoadhican (HD) polysaccharide, known for its superior hemostatic properties, as the foundational material to synthesize antibacterial carbon dots (H-CDs) through a hydrothermal method at various temperatures. The H-CDs exhibiting optimal antimicrobial properties were identified via in vitro antimicrobial characterization.

Objective: Evaluate the effectiveness of genicular nerve radiofrequency ablation (GNRFA) for chronic knee pain using the Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System Global Health, Physical Health score (PROMIS-GH-PH).
Methods: Patients who underwent GNRFA at a tertiary academic center were identified by CPT code query and contacted for consent. Demographic, clinical, and procedural characteristics were collected from the electronic medical record of participants with baseline PROMIS-GH-PH scores.

Background: Triglyceride-glucose-BMI (TyG-BMI) index is a surrogate marker of insulin resistance and an important predictor of cardiovascular disease. However, the predictive value of TyG-BMI index in the progression of non-severe aortic stenosis (AS) is still unclear.
Methods: The present retrospective observational study was conducted using patient data from Aortic valve diseases RISk facTOr assessmenT andprognosis modeL construction (ARISTOTLE).

Objective: The purpose of this study was to assess the severity of hemifacial spasm (HFS) through quantitative measures that associated it with neurovascular contact (NVC).
Methods: We enrolled 108 HFS patients (63 severe and 45 mild cases) and implemented a human-in-the-loop approach to develop a quantitative NVC feature package. This process involved using interactive segmentation on three-dimensional volumetric interpolated breath-hold examination (VIBE) MR images to delineate vascular and nerve structures.
