Herein we have implemented a computational approach in designing sensor molecules for the selective recognition of Cu and Fe ions. Seven rhodamine B hydrazide-based Schiff base derivatives were designed and analysed their chemosensing properties against Cu and Fe ions in ethanol solution theoretically. The theoretical calculations revealed that the selective recognition of Cu and Fe ions takes place via spirolactam ring-opening and there is a pivotal role of ortho substituents and N-heteroatoms. The two best chemosensors were synthesised and used for the detection of Cu and Fe ions by colorimetric methods.

MAL2 (myelin and lymphocyte protein 2) and rab17 have been identified as hepatocellular carcinoma tumor suppressors. However, little is known how their functions in hepatic polarized protein sorting/trafficking translates into how they function in the epithelial to mesenchymal transition and/or the mesenchymal to epithelial transition in metastases. To investigate this, we expressed MAL2 and rab17 alone or together in hepatoma-derived Clone 9 cells (that lack endogenous MAL2 and rab17).

Objective: This study aimed to explore the utilization of a fine-tuned language model to extract expressions related to the Age-Friendly Health Systems 4M Framework (What Matters, Medication, Mentation, and Mobility) from nursing home worker text messages, deploy automated mapping of these expressions to a taxonomy, and explore the created expressions and relationships.
Materials And Methods: The dataset included 21 357 text messages from healthcare workers in 12 Missouri nursing homes. A sample of 860 messages was annotated by clinical experts to form a "Gold Standard" dataset.

The accumulation of defective polypeptides in cells is a major cause of various diseases. However, probing defective proteins is difficult because no currently available method can retrieve unstable defective translational products in a soluble state. To overcome this issue, there is a need for a molecular device specific to structurally defective polypeptides.

Small bowel obstruction (SBO) is a serious condition with distinct symptoms such as constipation, vomiting, and abdominal distension. It is commonly caused by well-recognised factors. Recent advancements in imaging techniques and minimally invasive procedures have significantly improved our ability to accurately select patients for surgical intervention and promptly identify common SBO causes.

Chloride is the most abundant anion in cells and plays many critical roles in maintaining cellular homeostasis. However, current chloride indicators are rare with inherent sensitivity in their emission properties, such as vulnerability to pH changes or short emission lifetimes. These limitations restrict their application in aqueous media and imaging.
