Background: We report the case of a 79-year-old woman with Alzheimer's disease who enrolled in a clinical study of lecanemab. After the third, biweekly infusion she suffered a seizure followed by aphasia and progressive encephalopathy. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed multifocal cerebral edema and an increased burden of cerebral microhemorrhages compared to pre-trial imaging.

Purpose: The study aimed to investigate the pharmacokinetics and bioequivalence of coformulations of valsartan and amlodipine in healthy Chinese subjects under both fasting and fed conditions.

Methods: The research was conducted under both fasting and fed studies and employed a single-center, randomized, open-label, single-dose, three-period design with partial-repeat and crossover elements. A total of 71 healthy Chinese adult participants were included under fasting (n = 36) and fed (n = 35) conditions.

Background: Compressed schedules, where workers perform longer daily hours to enjoy additional days off, are increasingly promoted as a workplace well-being intervention. Nevertheless, their implications for work-related well-being outcomes, such as recovery from work and burnout risk, are understudied. This gap leaves employers with little evidence on whether and how the arrangement contributes to workplace well-being.

After severe trauma, but also perioperatively, massive bleeding is associated with increased morbidity and mortality. In severely injured patients, hemorrhagic shock remains to be the main cause of death in addition to traumatic brain hemorrhage. In non-cardiac surgery, a surgical bleeding complication increases perioperative morbidity (intensive care length of stay, acute renal failure, infections, thromboembolic complications) by a factor of three to four and mortality by a factor of six.
