Selected endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) were measured in adult female menstrual blood for the first time in Ghana, Africa, taking into account the importance of non-invasive means of matrices sampling in vulnerable groups, such as pregnant women, the elderly or chronically ill people. The menstrual blood samples of twenty (20) female adults between the ages of 25-45 years were sampled. The Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged and Safe (QuEChERS) method was applied for the extraction and clean up, while gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was used to measure the selected EDCs in adult female menstrual blood, taking into account the composition of menstrual discharge. Diethyl phthalate (DEP), Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and Bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) were detected in all samples, whereas bisphenol A (BPA) was found in 13 participants. Dimethyl phthalate (DMP) was detected in 7 participants, Di-n-octyl phthalate (DNOP) was detected in 3 participants, Bis (2-ethylhexyl) adipate (DEHA) and pyrimidine were detected in 2 participants, while benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP) was detected in only 1 participant. The maximum concentration of DEP measured was 115.6 µg.Land the minimum was 439 µg.L. DEHP was the next most abundant phthalate with a maximum measured concentration of 982 µg.L and minimum of 95 µg.L. The presence of parent phthalates (rather than metabolites) in menstrual blood of all participants studied suggests that bioaccumulation of selected phthalate compounds such as DEHP, DEP and DBP may be occurring with appreciable human toxicity though the carcinogenic exposure risks of DEHP via various routes were much lower than 1 × 10 considered to be very low.

Objective: To study the timing of the effect of linzagolix, an oral GnRH antagonist, on significant reduction in heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB) in women with uterine fibroids.
Design: The study used pooled data from PRIMROSE1 and PRIMROSE2, two double-blind, similar placebo-controlled trials of linzagolix in US and Europe, respectively. Eligible participants were randomized equally across four treatment arms (linzagolix 100mg and 200mg, with and without concomitant hormonal add-back therapy [ABT] consisting of 1 mg estradiol and 0.

Objective: Successful embryo implantation is contingent upon the intricate interaction between the endometrium and the blastocyst. Recurrent implantation failure (RIF) signifies the clinical challenge of failing pregnancy post-transfer of high-quality embryos, fresh or frozen, in at least three in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles, often in women under 40 years. Recent studies identify impaired blastocyst maternal tissue communication among recurrent implantation failure causes.

Background: Women's elevated risk of Alzheimer's disease (AD) compared to men remains unclear, with gonadal hormones proposed as potential contributors. This study aimed to explore the association between follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), estradiol (E2), neuropsychological AD stages, and cerebral Aβ deposition.
Methods: A total of 679 subjects were included in the study (N = 198 for cognitively normal (CN), N = 373 for mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and N = 108 for AD dementia groups).

Objective: To explore whether acupuncture combined with clomiphene can reduce the luteinizing hormone-to follicle-stimulating hormone ratio and impact the gut microbiota in patients with obese polycystic ovary syndrome.
Methods: This open-label, randomized, parallel-group controlled trial included 86 women aged 20-40 years with obese polycystic ovary syndrome and 19 healthy controls. Participants were randomly assigned to either an acupuncture combined with clomiphene group or a clomiphene-only group, with a healthy control group for comparison.
