Jingpo Lake is the largest mountain barrier lake in China and plays a key role in breeding, power generation, and providing a source of drinking water. Microbes are important participants in the formation of lake resources and energy cycles. However, the ecological protection of Jingpo Lake has faced serious challenges in recent years. In this study, we investigate the responses of the microbial community's composition of sediments at five locations to an environmental gradient representing water quality and water-depth changes using a metagenomic sequence. We found that the diversity and composition of the microbiota sediments were altered spatially and correlated with the physicochemical factors of water samples. In the microbial community, relatively lower Chao1, alternating conditional expectations, and Shannon and Simpson indices were found at the shallowest location with higher total phosphorus and chlorophyll . Furthermore, the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes analysis revealed that the metabolism function was the most abundant functional classification in Jingpo Lake. The levels of total phosphorus, chlorophyll and pH were positively correlated with the abundance of and the bacterial functions of the carbohydrate metabolism and amino acid metabolism. In conclusion, our results reveal the physical and chemical characteristics, as well as the microbial community characteristics, of Jingpo Lake, which provides new insights for studying the relationship between environmental factors and the bacterial community distribution of freshwater ecosystems, in addition to also providing a theoretical basis for the environmental monitoring and protection of the lake.

Based on the investigations of fish resources in Jingpo Lake and Wudalianchi Lakes in 2008-2011 and the historical data, this paper analyzed the characteristics of ichthyofauna and its community diversity in volcanic barrier lakes of Northeast China. The ichthyofauna in the volcanic barrier lakes of Northeast China was consisted of 64 native species, belonging to 47 genera, 16 families, and 9 orders, among which, one species was the second class National protected wild animal, four species were Chinese endemic species, and five species were Chinese vulnerable species. In the 64 recorded species, there were 44 species of Cypriniformes order and 37 species of Cyprinidae family dominated, respectively.

Six samples (sample J1-J6) from Jingpo Lake in Heilongjiang province were analyzed by fluorescence and fluorescence excitation-emission matrix regional integration (FIR) to determine the different characteristics of dissolved organic matters (DOM). The results with the traditional method just analyzing the excitation, emission and synchronous fluorescence spectra indicated that DOM molecular condensation degree was highest at sample J4 and sample J5, however, the study with the three-dimensional-excitation emission matrix spectra (3EEMs) method showed that the content of protein-like material was higher in sample J6 than others. In the second method, 3EEMs was divided into five regions, among which Region I, Region II, and Region IV were related to protein-like material, Region II was related to fulvic acid-like material, Region V was related to humic acid-like organics, and then these regions were integrated named as A(I), A(II), A(III), A(IV) and A(V).
