A new rare earth based two-dimensional coordination network and a three-dimensional metal-organic framework (MOF) have been synthesized using bicinchoninic acid (BCA) and yttrium(iii) ions. Yttrium dimer nodes are formed in the absence of a modulator, resulting in a 2D layered coordination network (Y-BCA-2D). The presence of fluorinating agents, , 2-fluorobenzoic acid (2-FBA), 2,6-difluorobenzoic acid (2,6-DFBA), and perfluorohexanoic acid (PFHxA) result in μ-F bridged metal hexaclusters (YF) that form a three-dimensional MOF (Y-BCA-3D). It was found that Y can break highly stable C-F bonds in aromatic and aliphatic fluorinated compounds. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SC-XRD) shows the presence of fluorine in the metal cluster which was confirmed by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). High resolution X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and F Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) also verify the presence of metal-fluorine bonds in the cluster. The Y-BCA-3D MOF selectively adsorbs CO but not N.

Background: Commercially available exercise video games ('exergames') can be used by people with dementia with the right (human) prompting and support. However, more information is needed about what makes these systems and games technologically accessible for this population, considering their cognitive difficulties. This study explores what works and doesn't work for people with dementia when introducing new exergame systems and games to broaden opportunities for physical activity.

Background: Community-based centers for people living with dementia (PLWD) have been implemented as part of the National Plan of dementia in Chile, delivering a multicomponent intervention to support PLWD and their families. There is limited knowledge on their implementation, and we had previously informed with respect to the implementation outcomes of the first center, called Kintun. This work offers an update on findings describing implementation outcomes of three more centers, with different implementation times and geographic locations in Chile.

Background: Screening for cognitive impairment in primary care faces challenges, including time constraints, provider apprehension, and limited diagnostic confidence. An effective initiative for improving screening must include strategies to foster behavioral change, and active provider engagement. Agile implementation science integrates findings from behavioral economics, complexity science, and network science, to address these challenges by confirming the demand to solve the problem; local solution adaptation; and the iterative 'sprints', or tests of change, that are focused on execution.

Care partners of people living with dementia (PLWD) need information and access to many services and programs to support their person and maintain their own wellbeing. We conducted focus groups (n = 5) and interviews (n = 24) with care partners of PLWD and interviews with leaders of organizations serving PLWD in the Portland, Oregon region in 2022-2023. A comprehensive review of organizational websites and relevant literature identified several US-based role model programs and existing resources.

Background: Community-based centers for people living with dementia (PLWD) have been implemented as part of the National Plan of dementia in Chile, delivering a multicomponent and multiprofessional intervention to support the PLWD and their families, integrating social and clinical aspects. We sought to examine the implementation and adaptation of these centers, transitioning from adult day services to a community-based dementia care model that has escalated to a public policy.
Method: We conducted a realistic evaluation using multiple qualitative data collection strategies and informants to analyze complex interventions, in 4 of a total of 9 centers.
