Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the differences in effectiveness between nurse educator-led and clinical coach-led intensive care unit (ICU) training programs for new graduate nurses.
Background: New graduate ICU nurses require substantial clinical training, which is often provided by peers serving as clinical coaches who have not been formally trained for an educator role. Our medical center successfully transitioned from a nurse educator-led to clinical coach-led model for initial ICU education after formally training the clinical coaches.
Methods: Nurses enrolled in nurse educator-led (n = 114) or clinical coach-led (n = 166) ICU clinical training programs were compared on program pass rate, satisfaction, preparedness, turnover, and competence.
Results: There were no statistically significant differences between the groups on any of the identified measures of program effectiveness.
Conclusions: Both educator-led and clinical coach-led models, with appropriate training, effectively prepared ICU nurses in this setting. Implementing a clinical coaching model for ICU training of new graduate nurses could assuage common resource issues, such as a shortage of nurse educators, as well as address the increasing demand for well-trained ICU nurses.

Importance: Chronic pain is common among individuals with dialysis-dependent kidney failure.
Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of pain coping skills training (PCST), a cognitive behavioral intervention, on pain interference.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This multicenter randomized clinical trial of PCST vs usual care was conducted across 16 academic centers and 103 outpatient dialysis facilities in the US.

Sun protection during pregnancy is critical for both maternal and infant skin cancer prevention, yet gaps remain in addressing this behavior in pre and postnatal settings. This pilot study aimed to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of a peer-led intervention for expectant mothers' sun protection behaviors for themselves and their newborns and examine the preliminary effects on mothers' skin cancer knowledge, attitudes, and sun protection behaviors for themselves and their infants. Expectant mothers were recruited from medical clinics and community settings and were asked to complete surveys and interviews.

Background: Digital health interventions show promise for weight management. However, few text-based behavior change interventions have been designed to support patients receiving intragastric balloons, and none have simultaneously evaluated weight loss, psychological well-being, and behavior change despite the crucial interplay of these factors in weight management.
Objective: This study aims to assess whether a health coach-led, asynchronous, text-based digital behavior change coaching intervention (DBCCI) delivered to participants receiving an intragastric balloon and its aftercare program was feasible and acceptable to participants and supported improved outcomes, including weight loss, psychological well-being, and lifestyle behavior change conducive to weight loss maintenance.

Background: Midlife hypertension is associated with cognitive decline and Alzheimer's disease and related dementia (ADRD), suggesting that blood pressure control may be a therapeutic target for dementia prevention. Given excess hypertension in non-Hispanic Black (NHB) adults, blood pressure control may also reduce ADRD disparities. We describe a pilot randomized controlled trial (RCT) to evaluate the feasibility and preliminary efficacy of a multicomponent lifestyle-based intervention versus enhanced usual care on cognition among middle-aged NHB adults.
