The development of viscous-crude oil and water separation technology is important for overcoming pollution caused by oil spills. Although some separators responding to light, electric, and temperature have been proposed, their poor structural homogeneity and inferior controllability, together with weak capillary forces, hinder the rapid salvage of viscous crude oil. Herein, a Joule-heated hydrophobic porous oil/water separator is reported, which has advantages of low energy consumption (169.

Background: Aflatoxin B (AFB), a potent carcinogen produced by species, is a prevalent contaminant in oil crops, with prolonged exposure associated with liver damage. Home-made peanut oil (HMPO) produced by small workshops in Guangzhou is heavily contaminated with AFB. Despite the enactment of the Small Food Workshops Management Regulations (SFWMR), no quantitative assessment has been conducted regarding its impact on food contamination and public health.

INCITAP-CONICET, FCEyN-Universidad Nacional de La Pampa (UNLPam), Santa Rosa, La Pampa, Argentina.

Cannabis oil, derived from plants, is increasingly used for therapeutic purposes across a wide range of diseases. Accurate quantification of cannabinoids is essential, especially for cannabis products sourced from informal markets where supply origins are uncertain. This study aimed to develop a cost-effective, robust analytical methodology using liquid chromatography in combination with UV- and mass detectors for the quantification of key cannabinoids (THC, CBD and CBN) and the identification of THCA and CBDA.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to analyze composition of HMS (homemade CBD), NLS (non-licensed commercial products), and bioequivalent CBD (BES) collected from Chilean patients that voluntary accepted to analyze the "CBD-substance."

Methods: Samples were collected through an open invitation for different patients to anonymously and free of charge participate in the analysis of CBD oil. The analysis of the active principle was performed using High-Resolution Liquid Chromatography (HPLC).

Article Synopsis
  • Cyperus articulatus L. (priprioca) is traditionally used in the Amazon for its aromatic properties and medicinal benefits, particularly for treating inflammatory diseases using its rhizomes.
  • This study explores the phytochemistry and the anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving (antinociceptive) effects of its essential oil (CAEO) through laboratory tests on cells and living mice.
  • Results indicated that CAEO significantly reduced inflammatory markers in cell cultures and lowered leukocyte migration and pain responses in mice, highlighting its potential as a natural remedy for inflammation and pain.
