Poisoning by organophosphorus (OP) is a major clinical issue affecting many nations worldwide, especially developing nations. In this case report, we have highlighted organophosphate poisoning syndrome that resulted in paralysis of the vocal cords. A 28-year-old male patient with a history of accidental inhalation of the OP compound reported to our hospital with symptoms of vomiting and hoarseness of voice. He had nasal regurgitation and hoarseness having both 9th and 10th cranial nerve palsies on admission, which improved after administration of atropine.

Children in daycare centers are exposed to various chemicals present in indoor dust, including organophosphorus flame retardants (OPFRs). This study analyzed OPFR levels in dust from 18 daycare centers in Tampere, Finland, to assess children's exposure through dust ingestion, inhalation, and dermal absorption. Introduction: The general population is chronically exposed to organophosphate pesticides through various routes including ingestion, hand-to-mouth contact, inhalation, and dermal contact. Exposure to organophosphate pesticides during pregnancy impairs fetal development, but the potential long-term effects of gestational organophosphate pesticide exposure are less well understood.
Methods: We investigated associations between gestational organophosphate pesticide exposure and cardiovascular outcomes in 643 children in the Generation R Study, a prospective pregnancy cohort based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
