Unlabelled: While we know that climate change is having different impacts on various ecosystems and regions of the world, we know less how the perception of such impacts varies within a population. In this study, we examine patterns of individual variation in climate change impacts reports using data from a sample ( = 238) drawn from 33 mountainous municipalities of Sierra Nevada, Spain. Sierra Nevada inhabitants report multiple climate change impacts, being the most frequently reported changes in snowfall and snow cover, abundance of terrestrial fauna, freshwater availability, and extreme temperatures. Reports of climate change impacts vary according to informants' sociodemographic characteristics and geographical location. People with life-long bonds with the environment and higher connection and dependence upon ecosystem services report more climate change impacts than other informants, as do people with lower level of schooling. We also found that reports of climate change impacts vary according to geographic areas, which reinforces the idea that climate change generates differentiated impacts even at small geographical scales. Understanding intracultural variation in reports of climate change impacts not only gives an enriched picture of the human dimensions of climate change but might also help design more targeted mitigation and adaptation responses.

Background: Rapid human movement plays a crucial role in the spatial dissemination of the dengue virus. Nevertheless, robust quantification of this relationship using both spatial and temporal models remains necessary. This study aims to explore the spatial and temporal patterns of dengue transmission under various human movement contexts.

Exploring the composition of regional soil organic carbon (SOC) components and identifying their influencing factors are of utmost importance to deeply understand the potential mechanisms of SOC change in cropland soil. Based on data from 871 soil sampling points, this study explored the characteristics of soil particulate and mineral-associated organic carbon (POC and MAOC) in the surface soil of cropland and the relationships with climate, terrain, soil texture, agricultural land-use type, and fertilization across the Sichuan basin using analysis of variance, correlation analysis, and a random forest model. The results showed that the average content of POC and MAOC in the surface soil of cropland was 5.

The Taihangshan-Yanshan Region is an important ecological barrier area in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, and it is of great importance to investigate the spatial distribution pattern and driving mechanism of net primary productivity (NPP) of vegetation for ecological restoration. The MOD17A3HGF.061 NPP dataset was obtained using the Google earth engine(GEE), and Sen trend, coefficient of variation, partial correlation, complex correlation, and residual analysis were applied to investigate the spatial and temporal patterns of vegetation NPP in the study area and to quantitatively isolate the relative contributions of climate change and human activities.

Understanding multifaceted climate change risks and their interconnections is essential for effective adaptation strategies, which require comprehensive assessments of both climatic impact variations and social-environmental exposures/vulnerabilities. This study examines these interconnections and creates multitier delineations of future climate risks across Japan by overlaying homogeneous impact zones (HIZs) with exposure-vulnerability complexes (EVCs). We delineated eight EVC regions, each exhibiting similar patterns of exposure and vulnerability, via multivariate clustering and similarity search on the basis of future population and land cover/use data.
