CLICK-chemistry has become a universal route to covalently link organic molecules functionalized with azides and alkynes, respectively. Here, we report how CLICK-chemistry can be used to attach oligoaromatic organic moieties to Dawson-type polyoxometalates. In step one, the lacunary Dawson anion [α -P W O ] is functionalized with phosphonate anchors featuring peripheral azide groups. In step two, this organic-inorganic hybrid undergoes microwave-assisted CLICK coupling. We demonstrate the versatility of this route to access a series of Dawson anions covalently functionalized with oligoaromatic groups. The supramolecular chemistry and aggregation of these systems in solution is explored, and we report distinct changes in charge-transfer behavior depending on the size of the oligoaromatic π-system.

Snake venom galactoside-binding lectins (SVgalLs) comprise a group of toxins with the ability to bind specifically, reversibly, and non-covalently to galactose-containing carbohydrates in a Ca-dependent manner. Several SVgalLs have been identified and isolated from Bothrops snake venoms, presenting highly similar structures and biological functions. BjcuL is a galactoside binding C-type lectin isolated from the venom of South America Bothrops jararacussu and consists of the most investigated lectin.

Flavonoid glycosides are formed by dehydration condensation of aglycones and sugar molecules. Therefore, discrimination of flavonoid glycosides from their corresponding aglycones is a challenging task because they contain the same aglycone part in their molecular structures. Herein, boric acid-functional Eu(III)-organic framework (BA-Eu-MOF) was applied to discriminate flavonoid glycosides including baicalin (Bai), wogonoside (Wog), rutin (Rut), puerarin (Pue), quercitrin (Que) and astragalin (Ast) from their corresponding aglycones for the first time.

We have designed and produced 39 amino acid peptide mimics of the and human acetylcholine receptors' (AChRs) main immunogenic regions (MIRs). These conformationally sensitive regions consist of three non-contiguous segments of the AChR α-subunits and are the target of 50-70% of the anti-AChR autoantibodies (Abs) in human myasthenic serum and in the serum of rats with a model of that disease, experimental autoimmune myasthenia gravis (EAMG), induced by immunizing the rats with the electric organ AChR. These MIR segments covalently joined together bind a significant fraction of the monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) raised in rats against electric organ AChR.

Since its conceptualization, click chemistry in all its variants has proven to be a superior synthesis protocol, compared to conventional methods, for forming new covalent bonds under mild conditions, orthogonally, and with high yields. If a term like reactive resilience could be established, click reactions would be good examples, as they perform better under increasingly challenging conditions. Particularly, highly hindered couplings that perform poorly with conventional chemistry protocols-such as those used to conjugate biomacromolecules (e.

Dynamic hydrogels have attracted considerable attention in the application of flexible electronics, as they possess injectable and self-healing abilities. However, it is still a challenge to combine high conductivity and antibacterial properties into dynamic hydrogels. In this work, we fabricated a type of dynamic hydrogel based on acylhydrazone bonds between thermo-responsive copolymer and silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) functionalized with hydrazide groups.
