Visualizing two variables in the fluid flow requires a complex optical system to fulfill such a purpose. Furthermore, in these applications, measuring the temperature fields of the fluid is sometimes necessary. In this work, we use a color digital camera to record in one snapshot shadowgraph and two direction sensitivity Schlieren images. Furthermore, the Schlieren images obtained are used to measure temperature fields. The optical system, as main components, employs an Light Emitting Diode (LED), two knife edges represented by shortpass and longpass ultra-thin filters, and a color digital camera. The results of this study show that shadowgraph images are contaminated with the crosstalk effect, and correction against it was applied. On the other hand, the reached resolution of the optical system to measure temperature values is approximately one degree.

Bio-Layer Interferometry (BLI) is a technique that uses optical biosensing to analyze interactions between molecules. The analysis of molecular interactions is measured in real-time and does not require fluorescent tags. BLI uses disposable biosensors that come in a variety of formats to bind different ligands including biotin, hexahistidine, GST, and the Fc portion of antibodies.

The use of AR technology in image-guided neurosurgery enables visualization of lesions that are concealed deep within the brain. Accurate AR registration is required to precisely match virtual lesions with anatomical structures displayed under a microscope. The purpose of this work was to develop a real-time augmented surgical navigation system using contactless line-structured light registration, microscope calibration, and visible optical tracking.

Two-dimensional halide perovskites are attracting attention due to their structural diversity, improved stability, and enhanced quantum efficiency compared to their three-dimensional counterparts. In particular, Dion-Jacobson (DJ) phase perovskites exhibit superior structural stability compared to Ruddlesden-Popper phase perovskites. The inherent quantum well structure of layered perovskites leads to highly anisotropic charge transport and optical properties.
