Objectives: This systematic review analyzed the prevalence of malnutrition in patients with Parkinson's Disease.
Study Design: a systematic review.
Method: Four databases-Cochrane, PubMed, Embase and Web of Science-were searched from October 2021 to June 2022 by two independent researchers. The inclusion criteria were as follows: patients above 18 years old with confirmed Parkinson's Disease, performed screening nutritional assessment, cohort studies, case-control studies, and cross-sectional studies. Patients without Parkinson's Disease and with other parkinsonian syndromes were excluded.
Results: 49 studies were included in this systematic review. Patients ranged in age from 20 to 96 years. There were 5613 subjects included. According to Mini Nutritional Assessment, 23.9% ( = 634) participants were at risk of malnutrition and 11.1% ( = 294) were malnourished. According to BMI score, most patients were either obese or overweight.
Conclusions: the prevalence of malnutrition or risk of malnutrition in the study group was significant. Therefore, more specific and detailed studies on the prevalence of malnutrition in patients with Parkinson's Disease are needed.

Objectives: epidemiological data show growing numbers of patients with Alzheimer´s disease. Cognitive decline and progressive swallowing impairment lead to a significant deterioration of the nutrition status in this population. Early detection and treatment of malnutrition is important for the prognosis of the disease.

Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI) is a major cause of maldigestion and malnutrition, resulting from primary pancreatic diseases or other conditions. As the prevalence of EPI continues to rise, accurate identification of its etiology has become critical for the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic secretory insufficiency. EPI can result from both pancreatic and non-pancreatic disorders.

Metabolic malnutrition and inflammation-key mechanism links to redox imbalance-are fundamental pathologies that accelerate aging and disease progression, ultimately leading to death. The recently proposed metabolic vulnerability index (MVX) integrates multiple circulatory biomarkers closely linked to both metabolic and inflammatory factors. This study aims to assess MVX's potential to predict mortality in community-based population.

Objectives: Malnutrition is common in dementia patients and can lead to poor outcomes. Also, these patients are often prescribed medications with sedative and anticholinergic effects for various reasons. Thus, we aimed to explore the relationship between drug burden index (DBI), anticholinergic burden (ACB), and nutrition status in community-dwelling older adults with dementia.

Unlabelled: T follicular helper (Tfh) cells are crucial for B cell activation and subsequent antibody production. This functionality is influenced by surface markers such as CD40L, a costimulatory factor which promotes B cell activation, and CD57, which is a well-known marker of senescence. This study examined age-specific differences in Tfh cell function in Bangladeshi and American children.
