This study aimed to evaluate the physicochemical, structural, antioxidant and antibacterial properties of chitosan-coated (0.5 and 1% CH) nanoliposomes containing hydrolyzed protein of and its stability in simulated gastric and intestine fluids. The chitosan coating of nanoliposomes containing hydrolyzed proteins increased their size and zeta potential. The fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) test showed an effective interaction between the hydrolyzed protein, the nanoliposome, and the chitosan coating. Increasing the concentration of hydrolyzed protein and the percentage of chitosan coating neutralized the decreasing effect of microencapsulation on the antioxidant activity of peptides. Chitosan coating (1%) resulted in improved stability of size, zeta potential, and poly dispersity index (PDI) of nanoliposomes, and lowered the release of the hydrolyzed protein from nanoliposomes. Increasing the percentage of chitosan coating neutralized the decrease in antibacterial properties of nanoliposomes containing hydrolyzed proteins. This study showed that 1% chitosan-coated nanoliposomes can protect hydrolyzed proteins and maintain their antioxidant and antibacterial activities.

Disulfiram (DSF), which has been traditionally used to treat alcoholism, has been shown to inhibit tumor growth, indicating its potential as an anticancer agent. However, its development and application are hindered by its poor water solubility, instability in physiological environments, and low bioavailability. In this study, phenylboronic acid-chitosan (PBA-CS) grafts were synthesized using the carbodiimide method.

Bloodstream infection in neonates is a complicated disease and presents a major challenge both in diagnosis and in therapeutic intervention. The focus of the present study was to investigate the incidence, the species distribution and the risk factors associated with mortality of bloodstream infections in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and evaluating the antifungal susceptibility of traditional antifungal drugs and three nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems based on nanoparticles. A total of 458 patients were evaluated, and 9.

In this study, we developed a novel, inexpensive and highly antibacterial magnetic nanocomposite composed of FeO nanoparticles synthesised from spent pickling liquors, coated with chitosan and then integrated with polyhexamethylene guanidine hydrochloride (FeO@CS@PHMG) using sodium tripolyphosphate (TPP) as a crosslinking agent. The obtained results revealed that the synthesised nanocomposite exhibited high antibacterial activity against and .

This research investigates the microbial inactivation potential of ternary TiO-CuO-chitosan nanocomposites (TCC NCs) applied as surface coatings on cowhide leather. Initially, bare TiO nanoparticles (NPs) and binary TiO-CuO (TC) NCs, with varying CuO NPs content, were prepared using an sol-gel method. These binary TC NCs were then modified with chitosan at varying weight percentages (2%, 4%, 6%, and 8%).

Edible films are significant in prolonging the shelf life of meat products. Herein, we prepared some edible coatings (EW/TNPCSs) based on egg white/chitosan/pectin as polymer matrix, containing tannic acid-nisin composite nano-crosslinker with antibacterial-antioxidant activities. The results of preservation indicated that the prepared EW/TNPCSs reduced the water loss of chilled pork and delayed the changes of taste, texture and surface color.
