New derivatives of carbazole and diphenyl imidazole for potential multiple applications were synthesized and investigated. Their properties were studied by thermal, optical, photophysical, electrochemical, and photoelectrical measurements. The compounds exhibited relatively narrow blue light-emission bands, which is favorable for deep-blue electroluminescent devices. The synthesized derivatives of imidazole and carbazole were tested as fluorescent emitters for OLEDs. The device showed deep-blue emissions with CIE color coordinates of (0.16, 0.08) and maximum quantum efficiency of 1.1%. The compounds demonstrated high triplet energy values above 3.0 eV and hole drift mobility exceeding 10 cm/V·s at high electric fields. One of the compounds having two diphenyl imidazole moieties and -butyl-substituted carbazolyl groups showed bipolar charge transport with electron drift mobility reaching 10 cm/V·s at electric field of 8 × 10 V/cm. The synthesized compounds were investigated as hosts for green, red and sky-blue phosphorescent OLEDs. The green-, red- and sky-blue-emitting devices demonstrated maximum quantum efficiencies of 8.3%, 6.4% and 7.6%, respectively.

Zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) has been extensively studied as a precursor for nitrogen-doped carbon (NC) materials due to its high surface area, tunable porosity, and adjustable nitrogen content. However, the intrinsic microporous structure of the ZIF-8 limits mass transport and accessibility of reactants to active sites, reducing its effectiveness in electrochemical applications. In this study, a soft templating approach using a triblock copolymer was used to prepare mesoporous ZIF-8-derived NC (Meso-ZIF-NC) samples.

The development of copper-based materials with a high efficiency and low cost is desirable for use in iodine (I) remediation. Herein, Cu-nanoparticles-functionalized, ZIF-8 (Zeolite Imidazole Framework-8)-derived, nitrogen-doped carbon composites (Cu@Zn-NC) were synthesized by ball milling and pyrolysis processes. The as-prepared composites were characterized using SEM, BET, XRD, XPS, and FT-IR analyses.

Vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC), a condition predominantly caused by , affects millions of women worldwide, prompting the need for alternative treatments due to the side effects and increasing resistance associated with conventional imidazole antifungals. This study investigated VAGINNE, a novel fermentation broth derived from species, as a potential VVC treatment. Using a BALB/c mouse model of infection, we evaluated VAGINNE's effects on vaginal microbiome composition, inflammatory markers, and tissue integrity.

Although immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) therapy has attained unprecedented clinical success, the tolerance and immune suppression mechanisms evolved by tumor cells and their tumor microenvironment (TME) hinder its maximum anti-cancer potential. Ferroptosis therapy can partially improve the efficacy of ICB, but it is still subject to immune suppression by myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) in the TME. Recent research suggests that an MDSC blockade can unleash the full therapeutic potential of the combined therapy of ferroptosis and ICB in liver cancer treatment.

Background: α-Glucosidase inhibitors play an important role in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Inhibitors of the latter enzyme that are available on the market created gastrointestinal side effects and achieve to a high potent and low side effect potent α-glucosidase inhibitors is a valuable target for medicinal chemists.
Objective: In this study, derivatives of benzimidazole-phenoxy-1,2,3-triazole-benzyl skeleton were introduced as new α-glucosidase inhibitors.
