Aim: This study aims to explore the factors impacting implant plaque re-formation after implant polishing surgery for peri-implantitis and to establish a predictive model using crucial factors, thereby providing an evidence-based reference for managing this condition.
Methods: This retrospective study analyzed clinical data from 203 patients who underwent implant polishing and shaping procedures in Suzhou Stomatological Hospital between November 2018 and October 2023. Study subjects were divided into a training set (n = 142) and a validation set (n = 61) in a 7:3 ratio.

Mental disorders and excess mortality: a systematic review protocol.

Background: There is developing evidence of excess mortality among people with mental disorders. This protocol presents the methodology to undertake a systematic review to definitively examine the current evidence on the risk of all-cause and cause-specific mortality in people with mental disorders (mood, anxiety, substance use, eating, personality and psychotic disorders) compared with populations without mental disorders in broadly representative studies of general populations worldwide. In addition, we seek to understand whether the excess mortality has increased further over time, and if the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated the excess mortality in people with mental disorders.

Background: Accurate prediction of pathologic complete response (pCR) following neoadjuvant immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy (nICT) is crucial for tailoring patient care in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). This study aimed to develop and validate a deep learning model using a novel voxel-level radiomics approach to predict pCR based on preoperative CT images.
Methods: In this multicenter, retrospective study, 741 patients with ESCC who underwent nICT followed by radical esophagectomy were enrolled from three institutions.
