Precarious employment, such as housecleaning, is one important structural contributor to health inequities. We used an employment quality (EQ) framework to characterize the impact of employment conditions on mental and self-reported ill-health among Latinx housecleaners in the New York City metropolitan area. Using a community-based participatory research approach, we collected cross-sectional survey data from 402 housecleaners between August 2019 and February 2020 to characterize housecleaners' EQ and its association with depression, perceived stress, and self-reported health. We also measured work-related irritant eye, skin, and respiratory symptoms, which have been shown in previous research to be associated with housecleaners' exposure to chemical components of cleaning products. Our housecleaner cohort was largely female and immigrant and most had worked at least five years. Survey items capturing the EQ dimensions of unbalanced interpersonal relations, low material resources, and violations of workers' rights were associated with increased odds of depression, perceived stress, and self-reported ill-health. Work-related irritant eye, skin, and respiratory symptoms were also independently associated with mental and self-reported ill-health and some of the effects of EQ on health were potentially partially mediated through their association with work-related irritant symptoms. Findings can inform directions for community-based educational and policy initiatives to improve housecleaners' employment quality.

Background/objectives: Despite the introduction of innovative therapeutics, lung cancer is still the leading cause of cancer-related death. For this reason, lung cancer still requires deep characterization to identify cellular and molecular targets that can be used to develop novel therapeutic strategies. Three-dimensional cellular models, including patient-derived organoids (PDOs), represent useful tools to study lung cancer biology and may be employed in the future as predictive tools in therapeutic decisions.

Computer-aided diagnostic systems have achieved remarkable success in the medical field, particularly in diagnosing malignant tumors, and have done so at a rapid pace. However, the generalizability of the results remains a challenge for researchers and decreases the credibility of these models, which represents a point of criticism by physicians and specialists, especially given the sensitivity of the field. Introduction: Despite the increasing number of central nervous system (CNS) tumour survivors, long-term (LT) sequelae remain a substantial burden on their health through various life stages. The aim of our study was to evaluate late morbidity, health-related quality of life (HRQoL), self-esteem, functional status, adaptive behaviour, physical activity and social outcomes such as education, employment, relationship status and possession of a driver's license, in addition to the role of LT effects of radiotherapy (RTx) on these outcomes.
Methods: The study included 111 CNS tumour survivors with a minimum of 10 years of follow-up.
