Article Abstract
This study presents the molecular detection of Rickettsia andeanae and sp. in Aragão, 1908 (Acari: Ixodidae) collected on a large hairy armadillo ( (Desmarest, 1804)). On 12 October 2020, a specimen of was found dead on the road in Río Negro province, Argentina. Molecular detection of and agents was performed amplifying the and 16S rRNA gene, respectively. One tick, determined morphologically and genetically as , was collected on . The rickettsial agent detected in was identified as Rickettsia andeanae. The sp. strain showed high sequence similarity to different uncultured sp. detected in horses, capybaras and from Nicaragua, Brazil and Australia, respectively. The results of this study and previous findings suggest that may be a potential vector of some and bacteria of unknown pathogenicity.

Thoracic SMARCA4-deficient undifferentiated tumors (SMARCA4-UTs), recently recognized as a rare malignancy described in the 5th edition of the World Health Organization Classification of Tumors, are characterized by an inactivating mutation in SMARCA4, most commonly found in the mediastinum of male smokers. Despite the aggressive nature and poor prognosis associated with these tumors, which have a median survival time of approximately 4-7 months, no standardized treatment guidelines are currently established. There are currently no reported cases of extended progression-free survival (PFS) in SMARCA4-UT patients treated with surgery and immunotherapy.
