This review explores the therapeutic potential of the stable gastric pentadecapeptide BPC 157 in addressing electrolyte imbalances, specifically hyperkalemia, hypokalemia, hypermagnesemia, and hyperlithemia. In hyperkalemia, BPC 157 demonstrated a comprehensive counteractive effect against KCl overdose (intraperitoneally, intragastrically, and in vitro), effectively mitigating symptoms such as muscular weakness, hypertension, sphincter dysfunction, arrhythmias, and lethality. It also counteracted the adverse effects of succinylcholine and magnesium overdose, including systemic muscle paralysis, arrhythmias, and hyperkalemia.

Mature compost can reduce gaseous emissions in composting, but its regulation mechanisms via biotic and abiotic functions are largely unknown. This study used fresh and inactivated mature compost as additives in kitchen waste composting to unveil the relevant mechanisms using metagenomic analysis. Results showed that mature compost reduce gaseous emission by improving physiochemical properties and inoculating functional microbes.

Recovery of phosphate from swine wastewater is significant for alleviating eutrophication in aquatic ecosystems and addressing the increasing scarcity of phosphorus resources. In this study, a method for phosphate recovery from swine wastewater using corn carbon as an additive and non-dynamic magnesium metal self-corrosion was studied. The effects of reaction time, C:Mg mass ratio, stirring rate, and aeration rate on phosphate recovery were discussed, and eight experimental models were explored.

Hereditary hypomagnesemia with secondary hypocalcemia (HSH) is a rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by biallelic variants in the transient receptor potential melastatin 6 (TRPM6) gene, typically presenting in infancy. Currently, there is a lack of reports in the literature on adult-onset cases. This case report describes a 51-year-old male with adult-onset HSH, presenting with limb weakness, muscle spasms, and electrolyte imbalances, including severe hypomagnesemia (0.
