Objective: To identify the perception of nursing student mothers regarding the desired type of delivery in relation to the one performed.
Method: Qualitative research, supported by the assumptions of Humanization of Obstetric Care, developed remotely with 16 nursing students who experienced the parturition process. The data were collected through an online focus group using the Google Meet program, guided by a semi-structured script. The speeches were analyzed using the Thematic Content Analysis technique.
Results: An unsatisfactory discrepancy was identified between the mother's preference and the realization, predominantly the desire for the vaginal way due to academic knowledge about the benefits. However, the cesarean section was predominant as a procedure performed due to possible complications, fears, financial situation of the parturient woman and control of choice by the health professional.
Conclusion: Perception indicates marked disagreements, with the presence of complications, fear, lack of autonomy and predominance of a hegemonic care model, reinforcing the need for expansion and application of the Humanization of Obstetric Care, as a primary condition for proper monitoring.

Programmable and modular systems capable of orthogonal genomic and transcriptomic perturbations are crucial for biological research and treating human genetic diseases. Here, we present the minimal versatile genetic perturbation technology (mvGPT), a flexible toolkit designed for simultaneous and orthogonal gene editing, activation, and repression in human cells. The mvGPT combines an engineered compact prime editor (PE), a fusion activator MS2-p65-HSF1 (MPH), and a drive-and-process multiplex array that produces RNAs tailored to different types of genetic perturbation.

This meta-analysis synthesized randomized and non-randomized controlled trials of solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) in Iranian populations, examining the effectiveness and the applications of SFBT in all Iranian settings and evaluated if the various outcomes being studied, research intervention modality, or therapy delivery format made statistical differences in outcomes. A comprehensive search strategy across three Iranian and four US databases, one Iranian conference website, and three professional websites resulted in the inclusion of 34 included studies for meta-analytic analysis. The outcomes reported an overall large significant treatment effect size (d = 0.

Background: Cesarean delivery remains the most common obstetrical procedure with more than 250,000 patients in the US undergoing cesarean following labor induction annually. Here, we evaluated the impact of prospectively implementing a standardized labor induction protocol on cesarean delivery rates.
Methods: This multi-site type I hybrid effectiveness-implementation study compared 2 years before (PRE) and 2 years after (POST) implementation of a standardized labor induction protocol at two hospitals within the University of Pennsylvania Health System (2018-2022).

Background: Postpartum contraception is typically provided during postpartum visits. When desired and accessible, the immediate postpartum period provides an additional opportunity to increase the use of more effective contraceptive methods to potentially reduce subsequent unintended pregnancies and improve pregnancy outcomes. In New York State, recent policy changes expanded Medicaid coverage to include immediate postplacental intrauterine device insertion.

Background: Fibroblast Growth Factor 21 (FGF21) is a naturally occurring peptide hormone involved in the regulation of glycolipid metabolism, and it shows promise as a potential treatment for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, the short half-life and poor pharmacokinetics of native FGF21 limit its efficacy in reducing hyperglycemia in vivo. Therefore, maintaining stable and sustained blood concentrations of FGF21 is crucial for its role as an effective regulator of glycolipid metabolism in vivo.
