On-site quantitative analysis of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) is of significant importance for addressing increasing concerns about public health and environmental quality. Here, a novel metal-organic framework (MOF) of Co-hemin is synthesized and first used for on-site colorimetric monitoring of 2,4-D. 2,4-D as an inhibitor of alkaline phosphatase could specifically suppress the production of ascorbic acid, which restrained etching of Co-hemin and further triggered the colorimetric response. In the colorimetric assay, Co-hemin displayed good oxidase-like activity without addition of HO, which could avoid the shortcomings of HO such as toxicity and instability. The Co-hemin biosensor exhibited a relatively low detection limit of 33 ng mL for 2,4-D by the UV method. Moreover, a smartphone based RGB analysis system for the sensitive detection of 2,4-D was developed, and exhibited a good linear relationship between the RGB model parameter and the concentration of 2,4-D. The operability and accuracy of the Co-hemin biosensor were confirmed by the quantitative determination of 2,4-D in real samples, such as serum and tap water. Also, the Co-hemin based colorimetric biosensor showed good selectivity and specificity. Moreover, the developed assays displayed good application in constructing complex logic gates. This work not only provided a portable and visual platform for on-site monitoring of 2,4-D, but also expanded application prospects in the field of complex biological analysis.

Nanoporous solids offer a wide range of functionalities for industrial, environmental, and energy applications. However, only a limited number of porous materials are responsive, the nanopore dynamically alters its size and shape in response to external stimuli such as temperature, pressure, light or the presence of specific molecular stimuli adsorbed inside the voids deforming the framework. Adsorption-induced structural deformation of porous solids can result in unique counterintuitive phenomena.

The extensive use of tetracyclines in livestock poses health risks due to their residues in animal-derived food; therefore, developing simple detection methods to replace complex traditional approaches is of paramount importance. Here, we developed a dual-ligand zinc-based metal-organic framework material, Zn-BTC-BDC-NH (denoted as ZTD), for the detection of tetracyclines. The intrinsic blue fluorescence of ZTD was quenched upon the introduction of tetracyclines due to electron transfer from -NH of ZTD to -CO- and -OH groups of tetracycline molecules; meanwhile, the new green fluorescence emission was generated through π-π stacking between aromatic rings and the formation of complexes between Zn and C-O/C═O groups.

To enable highly efficient in situ hydrogen release from methanol/water reforming at lower temperature, the integration of solar-energy offers a promising approach to activate methanol/water and substantially lower the activation energy of this reaction. Herein, we present a novel dual-vacancy defective hollow heterostructure derived from Metal-Organic Frameworks, featuring abundant surface hydroxyl groups and S/O vacancies, for photothermal-promoted methanol solution reforming into hydrogen. The [In2S3-x/In2O3-x](OH)y exhibits exceptional photothermal H2 evolution activity, achieving a production rate of 215.

As one of the most commonly used chemotherapeutic agents in clinical practice, cisplatin is unable to selectively accumulate in tumor tissue due to its lack of targeting ability, leading to increased systemic toxicities. Additionally, the effectiveness of monotherapy is greatly limited. Therefore, the development of new cisplatin-based drug delivery systems is essential to improve the effectiveness of tumor treatment.
