Evolution of groundwater genesis in Central Ganga Plain (CGP) is scrutinized with due consideration of hydrochemical and hydrodynamic environment within Quaternary alluviums. Wide variation in hydrochemical facies in CGP indicates a dynamic hydro-geochemical environment influenced from the seasonal rainfall, return flows, canal seepages, and anthropogenic activities. The Ca-HCO facies retaining meteoric nature is characterized by shallow water levels, high recharge rate, high hydraulic conductivity, low salinity and trace elemental load.

Saltmarshes serve as repositories for various metal species, primarily due to vegetation removal and mineralization processes. However, the significance of potassium (K), one of the three major nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus, and K) essential for plant growth, has often been overlooked, particularly in the context of saltmarshes where the mechanisms of K transport via porewater exchange remain poorly understood. To address this knowledge gap, we conducted field observations and laboratory analysis, and developed a Rn mass balance model to quantify K fluxes via porewater exchange under physical, biological, and anthropogenic drivers.

The mechanical properties of dietary items are known to influence skull morphology, either through evolution or by phenotypic plasticity. Here, we investigated the impact of supplementary feeding of peanuts on the morphology of red squirrels () from five populations in Britain (North Scotland, Borders, Jersey and two temporally distinct populations from Formby (Merseyside)). Stable isotope analysis confirmed dietary ecology in 58 specimens.

Background: Tissue metabolomics analysis, alongside genomics and proteomics, offers crucial insights into the regulatory mechanisms of tumorigenesis. To enhance metabolite detection sensitivity, chemical isotope labeling (CIL) techniques, such as dansylation, have been developed to improve metabolite separation and ionization in mass spectrometry (MS). However, the dissolution of hydrophobic derivatized metabolites in solvents with high acetonitrile content limits the use of liquid chromatography (LC) systems with small-volume reversed-phase (RP) columns.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common cause of cancer‑related mortality and morbidity worldwide. While iodine‑125 (I) particle brachytherapy has been extensively used in the clinical treatment of various types of cancer, the precise mechanism underlying its effectiveness in treating HCC remains unclear. In the present study, MHCC‑97H cells were treated with I, after which, cell viability and proliferation were assessed using Cell Counting Kit‑8, 5‑ethynyl‑2'‑deoxyuridine and colony formation assays, cell invasion and migration were evaluated using wound healing and Transwell assays, and cell apoptosis was determined using flow cytometry.
