Ischemic stroke is one of major causes of disability. In the pathological process of ischemic stroke, the up-regulation of Ras homolog gene family, member A (RhoA) and its downstream effector, Ras homolog gene family (Rho)-associated coiled coil-containing kinase (ROCK), contribute to the neuroinflammation, blood-brain barrier (BBB) dysfunction, neuronal apoptosis, axon growth inhibition and astrogliosis. Accumulating evidences have revealed that hydrogen sulphide (HS) could reduce brain injury in animal model of ischemic stroke via inhibiting the RhoA/ROCK pathway. Recently, noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) such as circular RNAs (circRNAs), long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and microRNAs (miRNAs) have attracted much attention because of their essential role in adjusting gene expression both in physiological and pathological conditions. Numerous studies have uncovered the role of RhoA/ROCK pathway and ncRNAs in ischemic stroke. In this review, we focused on the role of HS, RhoA/ROCK pathway and ncRNAs in ischemic stroke and aimed to reveal new strategies for preventing and treating this devastating disease.

We applied an MRI technique diffusion tensor imaging along the perivascular space (DTI-ALPS) for assessing glymphatic system (GS) in a genome-wide association study (GWAS) and phenome-wide association study (PheWAS) of 40,486 European individuals. Exploratory analysis revealed 17 genetic loci significantly associating with the regional DTI-ALPS index. We found 58 genes, including and , which prioritized in the DTI-ALPS index subtypes and associated with neurodegenerative diseases.

We present a case of a patient with a left atrial myxoma who presented with an ischemic stroke. Her cardiac myxoma had an irregular contour and was highly mobile, both features that have been associated with a greater risk of thromboembolism. She was treated with prompt surgical resection.

Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of combination therapy based on motion feedback training in patients recovering from ischemic stroke.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 205 patients in the recovery phase of ischemic stroke admitted between June 2022 and June 2023. Patients were divided into two groups: the conventional treatment group (n=101), receiving standard care, and the combination therapy group (n=104), receiving additional motion feedback training for 30 days.
